Brisbane's run from 2001-2004 is by far the best dynasty in the history of the game. No doubt about it.
Stuff and nonsense. The most underrated team in VFL/AFL history - the Melbourne team of the 50s/60 is a much greater "dynasty". Melbourne, playing in the premier competition in the sport, lost the GF in 54, won in 55, 56 and 57, lost in 58 (wooo hooo), and won in 59 and 60. Seven consecutive grand finals and five premierships - absolutely outstanding!
The Collingwood four-peat also won in 35 and 36 and i think lost a couple either side of the 27-30 flags, so I reckon they would have to get a mention, and certainly the Hawthorn side of the late '80s.
