Excellent, so we have had two winners two weeks in a row! Pity it wasn't clay but Lyon will give Matty some clay court practice. Millman was originally playing qualies here so good to see him in the main draw :thumbsu:

Official reason is 'Hip injury' but i have no idea how serious it is. Hopefully just a precauton before a Grand Slam.

Yes, hopefully. He's tweeted that he's 'working hard to sort out a couple of things with the body'.

Could be the hip, I know he wasn't rapt that he had to drive from Aix to Heilbronn due to train or plane strikes or something because sitting in a car for hours is not good for his hip.

Have to hope that since he was in the draw till the day before it's only a precaution but I guess we will find out.

As for Nick, I've already written off the French for him.

Hewitt and Kyrgios are apparently teaming up to play doubles together at Queens just before Wimbledon.
Most likely some extra tennis on grass for Nick if he doesn't play the French Open (very likely he will miss)

Lots of Aussies in the singles too; Polmans, De Minaur, Bolt, Kokkinakis and Thompson. Ebden will be there too but only playing doubles as far as I can tell.

Edit: J P Smith also playing doubles.

Ebden and De Minaur will play each other in the semis of the Surbiton Challenger.

Thompson has retired from his qualification match at the ATP event at Hertogenbosch  (J P Smith and Purcell won their first round of qualies)

I am no Tomic fan but I have to admit he has already proved me wrong. I doubted he would ever make it back on tour. To qualify at the French and a main tour event is a fair effort.

I am also surprised he actually qualified for the French Open (least favourite surface). I thought he would just skip it.

It's good to see him make the main draw in Hertogenbosch - interesting 1st round match coming up:

Tomic v Baghdatis.

By all accounts dad is back in the picture and helping to get bsck on track tennis wise. I would love to see him qualify for wimbledon this year. He is not an easy opponent for most players on grass.
