McDermott and Coulter-Nile the first wicket takers today. Hopefully we don't struggle with the ball as much this time around. Durham 65-2.

McDermott is going to be a gun, I can feel it in my bones.

3/32 so far and Durham is 4/75, a good start. :thumbsu:

All the bowlers ended up with pretty impressive numbers. :thumbsu:

And Liam Davis is 40*, great to see.

EDIT - Out for 40, put the mockers on him! Aus A 3/72.

After being smashed out for 159 our bowlers have come out with a full head of steam. McDermott 2/24 and NCN 2/4 and they're 5-49.

Disappointing result thanks to our batsmen. Liam Davis the only one to perform to a reasonable standard in both innings, hard to believe he wasn't going to be contracted by WA before the start of last season.

Australia was the only test playing nation Ian Blackwell had an average of <35 against in ODI's.

Our batsmen are really poor against spin.

In hindsight, picking Smith, Starc and Christian in the squad, only to send them home before the matches that actually matter, was dumb

edit oh yeah and bailey too. and given we're playing two spinners, there has to be some doubt over where NCN & McDermott are

Mitch picks up 4/47.

I hope you're all prepared for his return to the test side. You know it's going to happen. I think I'll need to book in some leave to look after this board the day it's announced.

Yes, I was following the match online and thought how 'pleased' everyone would be to see him taking wickets.

Trouble is, a lot of the Lions' players haven't played him much and due to the vagaries of his action he can be difficult to read till you've played him a bit. Though that isn't Morgan's problem.

Tbf, it's not as if Starc, Smith and Bailey were players whose performances we were deeply interested in....oh yes and Cummins and Pattinson would have gone home with those guys too, if they were fit, but again, we didn't care about them. This tour was all about Tom Cooper and Jon Holland!

Not in the A matches but Hughes just carried his bat through an innings.
they obviously just bowled outside off all day then?

good to see cowan gettin some runs in the A game at the moment. considering he's our test opener and not a "contracted player".

Hughes is tearing it up over there.

Cowan on the verge of a century. Would've liked to see more of Joe Burns, next test perhaps.

EDIT: just realised Burns is playing, whoops.
