Tbf, it's not as if Starc, Smith and Bailey were players whose performances we were deeply interested in....oh yes and Cummins and Pattinson would have gone home with those guys too, if they were fit, but again, we didn't care about them. This tour was all about Tom Cooper and Jon Holland!
Any time we are playing 'unofficial' test matches with 2 seamers in the attack and one of them Johnson... all I can say for sure is that there is some mightily confused thinking going on.

This isn't an A side so much as a WTF side. They can change the name to that for the next 'unofficial' test if they like.

Lost this match. Some shit spinner got 7 wickets. Forrest and Klinger did nothing again.
Kerrigan is far from a shit spinner, sorry to join late just read the thread, the overall A squad isn't very flattering and doesn't in my mind show a lot of future test players, but ah well, selection in this country is a joke.

Sorry to disappoint you but I was talking about Blackwell not Kerrigan. Cheers for the clueless input though.

ah I didn't realize it was from the Durham game, my bad, jumped in real late, as for the useless input could just update my post to be in regards to Kerrigan and his 6 fa, as he is a decent spinner, as I also said the current A team leaves a lot to be desired. Those were Blackwells career best figures from a 200+ game first class career.

Phil Hughes has been added to the Australia A side for the next match V the Lions, Peter Forrest is out injured, Hughes just carried his bat on the same ground in a county game and is having a big season over there, hope he goes well

Hughes will no doubt ton up here and make the selectors look like fools. Credit to him, he's gone away and tried to improve his weaknesses and has been in good form in English conditions.

Hughes had a heap of chances to stay in the Australian side and he failed to make the most of them. No reason why he won't be able to sort out his technical issue and with a bit of confidence he can be back playing for Australia. Sorry, but the selectors won't look like fools in this case - in fact it will be the opposite, if he does come back it will be the making of him.
