Any chance there's radio coverage of this anywhere? I have plenty of time at work and wouldn't mind listening to this during the week.

Buckingham the destroyer with 3 for 7 from 7 overs.
Buckingham is a rarity in cricket these days, a specialist seam bowler. And he is on his way up the pecking order. Forget his 28 @32 FC, he is better than that as proven for a CA X1 and both legs of this two way Aust A series. There is nothing fancy about him, is not even fast, but like all promising seamers he bowls a nagging line and length that asks questions of the batsman. I expect the 23 year old will be out to emulate the feats of the best over the past decade at doing this, Josh Hazlewood.

well frustrating for Bancroft ...opportunity is there just go to take it
..and Ward who looked comfortable until he got an unplayable, with comms saying it swung in then cut off the deck. Bancroft has improved his technique but his back lift is still coming from about first slip. Hard to imagine a guy can still have such a glaring batting flaw after playing so much cricket.

Jewell blows a vital ton. The A boys have a long tail, tho Paris and Perry are no mugs...

The deck looks to have more life today.
AB always tends to give the bowlers a bit more assistance in the morning, especially with the 9:30 starts. Always a bowl first type of deck

It's also more like New Zealand C (at least the batting).
Fair enough, I'm not very knowledgeable on NZ first class players lol

Has Mcsweeney had a promotion in the redbacks leadership this year? Captaining Aus A seems a big reach...

Kellaway looked to be struggling to get them off the square end of last season from memory... I guess he's young though...

Just checked the scorecard. Looks like a grand total of zero people putting their hands up. Hopefully one of the batters can do something in the second innings as it appears the pitch might be becoming easier to bat on.

For those who missed the live stream.

Looking forward to watching Mahli Beardman, specially with the red ball as big wraps on this 17 year old country kid. He has come a long way in a short time from the mining town of Dampier in the Pilbara, as has, believe it or not, his tour team mate Josh Vernon.

You cant fill the X1 with greenhorns and expect to perform against seasoned cricketers with most of the Kiwis in their 30s with probably a decade of FC cricket under their belts.
Exactly, 80% of that NZ A team is 30 + years old...with Patel topping it at 34. Aust have Paris, Bancroft and Pierson all at 30 yrs old, with Kellaway, Buckingham, Perry and McSweeney all under 25 and Ward and Jewell 25 and 26 respectively.

But hey well played NZ for bouncing back after being rolled for 147 in the first innings.

This is like a shield development squad... actual Aus A based on shield cricket would be more like:
Bancroft
Harris
Jewell
Handscomb
Drew
Webster
Pierson
Manenti
Sutherland
Steketee
Morris
