Guptill is so damn good when in form.

Really thought we were going to throw it away and crumble like we usually do against Aus.

Waste of a series. No closer to finding out where the team will stand.

Nah not a waste we learned a lot

Finch is back in form and will be captain
Phillipe is not to the level yet
Wade is just crap nice innings today but still not match winning..carey/inglis better glovemen
Maxwell...the enigma can win a game of his own bat but still too inconsistent
Stoinis....his middle order batting is improving and his fielding/catching was good
Marsh....good first innings in the first t20 but struggled since then....is he still injured ??? should of bowled
Agar...great with the ball again gun fielder needs to work on his batting
J Richardson....struggled looks frustrated should of been rested for Dorff
K Richardson.....took wickets and you know what he provides
Meridith.....the find of the tour great pace...got williamson number...smokey for the world cup
Zampa....got taken a bit but still a good spinner
Sams....great with the bat but average with the ball

Andrew Macdonald.......yeah not a great coach should of rotated his bowlers and had phillipe opening earlier in the series

We struggle against spin .....need to learn to rotate the strike..going into Indian conditions we need to work on this luckily for us we have two experienced batters in Warne and Smith who play spin well coming back

Not sure we actually "learned" any of what you've said. All stuff we already knew.

Maybe just Phillipe not quite being there yet, but then if they have him as an opener it's not an important learning because he's not going to open with Warner back anyway. Pointless.

Warner a good player of spin?

just checked the scorecard , if Mitch Marsh is in this team as a specialist batsman , why on earth is he batting below ashton Agar? That doesn't make any sense to me.

He's susceptible to spin bowling. I'm surprised why he didn't bowl. Is he unfit to bowl? IMO you can't have Stoinis and Marsh in the same team, especially if Marsh doesn't bowl. They essentially bat in the same manner and have similar susceptibilities.

Defs should've given Dorff and Sangha an opportunity. Especially considering there's back to back World cups, so it's nice to get them some exposure in essentially what are practise games.

I'm not sold on Phillipe, he plays too far across the line and slices too many deliveries but there is some potential. I would persist with him and hopefully he'll have a few learning experiences from this tour to improve his batting.

Sams should be considered as an allrounder and not a frontline/pure bowler. His batting has improved significantly, he can genuinely change the course of a game in a few deliveries. His bowling has stagnated/regressed, he has atleast 1-2 boundary balls per over and relies far too much on cutters/slower balls to the point where it's now predictable. IMO he can give you 2-3 decent overs, more 2 atm. He'll be in the T20 world cup squad because they've invested heavily in him and he's shown excellent potential as a lower order batsmen/finisher but will be a depth player.

Possible WC T20 team for Aus

1. Finch
2. Warner
3. Phillipe/Stoinis/Wade/Carey??
4. Smith
5. Maxwell
6. Marsh/Stoinis/Sams???
7. Agar
8. Cummins
9. Starc
10. Hazelwood/Meredith/JRich/ZRich???
11. Zampa

Probably forgetting one or two players

It will come couple of nice 40s as Finch said he showed promise and needs to learn to convert those 40s into 70s etc

I would not have him yet as a frontline player in the world cup....in the squad maybe but not the starting 11

Waste of a series. No closer to finding out where the team will stand.

The following players were on the plane to India before the series started:
Finch
Warner
Smith
Maxwell
Stoinis
Marsh
Agar
Starc
Cummins
Zampa

For me Philippe may have done enough. Two okay innings in five is alright, especially considering how average virtually everyone else we’ve selected in this format is.

What Wade has shown is he’s no better than Carey, whilst Inglis still hasn’t an opportunity. Big fail there.

We’ll probably want a third spinner in the squad for the World T20. Now Swepson is unlikely I don’t have a clue who’d be the best option.

All the quicks that played this series were inconsistent at best. It seems Cummins and Starc will be there but who else. Kane Richardson seems a safe option. Surprised they didn’t get another look at Tye given his IPL experience which will be valuable in the World T20. A lot may hinge on this years IPL.

Honestly it’d be a blessing in disguise if the ICC increases the size of squads due to COVID.

is Warner locked in for a spot now ? Doesn't seem like he's had any consistent form for a fair while now

Philipee is a mile off it. Can't adapt yet, I think he'll be good but very lucky in a couple of those innings. Wade over Carey just, I feel both will make the squad.

Finch
Warner
Smith
Maxwell
Wade
Marsh
Agar
Cummins
Starc
Zampa
Hazelwood
