Oppo teams taking advantage of a very weak team without 3 guns.

Warner is worth two batsmen,Smith 3 and then we have the very handy Bancroft out.

Playing with half a team atm.

Reminds me of the poms getting carried away beating a second 11 team when World Series cricket came in.

They will then slam on 300+ when they bat again leaving us a total of around 400ish to chase for the win batting last.

We wont make 200 batting last!

Yup spot on anything over 150 in the last innings is going to be hard seeing that our batsmen are showing no intent

We need Head and Paine to score big

When you have a very different technique, if you get out poorly then it gets criticized.

Same with Maxwell, get out to a shit shot you get criticized

There is a reason for that, the basics of batting essentially haven't changed much in 150 years. The freaks stand out and plenty can start out well but usually (and more so now because of video analysis) flaws are highlighted and exposed by every team. Maxwell gets criticized because he just doesn't use his brain enough.

I suspect he'll become a more limited, but still very effective nudger.
This is a concern

I'm a big proponent of technique - Warner has a very good technique in my view combined with an aggressive attitude. Smith is as you correctly point out a freak with an eye like a dead fish. There's not a lot of strong technique's coming through and that's a bigger concern imo.
I have no idea how anyone can say he has a good technique. As soon as the ball does anything hes totally ******.

Since the mid-80's.

The only reason why they're not 1978/79 bad is because of our bowling attack.
I was born in early 80s and all my memories are from about 1994 onwards. Was great watching us finally beat the WI etc. Then the next 20 yrs we dominated.

So it is hard to watch us struggle but it's probably more interesting than us winning 5-0 and dominating teams. It'll be interesting to see who stands up and who doesn't and how we get back to the top.

I reckon CA have taken their eye of the ball and the development/shield setup isn't working and players have been criticising it for a long time but they did nothi g to change it. Change is now occurring.
