The structural problems in Australian cricket are being laid bare for all to see. CA has become a dollar chasing business, rather than the overseer of the game of cricket.

The Sheffield Shield has been reduced to a second-rate competition, bookending the almighty BBL. As has the domestic one-day competition.

As a result, we have barely any batsman in the Shield pressing for Test selection, and even if there were - they wouldn't be elevated to the side from Shield competition, as it isn't being played at the moment.

CA is ruining the game in this country, it's as simple as that.

Yep. It was a good ball, angling in from outside off, but it was nothing special. Our quicks would have bowled dozens of those to Pujara and Kohli, but they got in behind it, watched it onto the bat, and kept it out. God only knows what Head was trying to do. Didn't get his front foot to the pitch of ball, left a massive gap between bat and pad, TOOK HIS EYE OFF THE BALL, and tried to smack it to the on side. It's astounding how a whole generation of Australian batsmen really have no idea.
It's incredible how much Smith and Warner covered for the mediocrity of the other batsmen.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again. Can we just make up a team of 10 bowlers and a wicket keeper?

I will back them to make more runs than our batsmen and then we have countless options in our bowling attack to bowl the opposition out cheaply.

For those who have watched Australian cricket for years, where would this batting line up rank?
Worst I have seen since the 80s. I’m loving it though. I get more enjoyment watching the Aussies as underdogs playing the best teams. It’s just so good when they pluck a win against the odds. It’s a bit perverse, but that’s just me.

Dear Mitch Marsh, I really dislike you as a cricketer and I hope you never play another test but if you can stand up here and score a century to save us the embarrassment of losing to these billionaire slave labour kids I will not speak a bad word about you at least for the next 12 months or so.

Yours sincerely

Warne is spot on and we bowl to short of a length not making the batsman play enough nor do we target the stumps enough restricting the LBW's chances etc.

This just plays into the hands of the Indian batters as they are patient test match batters.

One only needs to look at Bumrah bowling to understand how consistent accuracy troubles batters making them play 90% of the time.

I reckon Jonah Hill and Brad Pitt would move Pat Cummins into the top 6.

Seen worse around the WSC exodus of players but as the commentators have said on channel 7 we are missing Smith and Warner , actually the three players rubbed out we're all class batsman while Bancroft lesser of a player but can hang around and a very solid player .

You don’t need any help with that buddy.
I question Langer's coaching ability and rather than proving me wrong you just have a sook.

I'm going to guess I'm right and there's literally nothing to suggest he's the messiah we've been told about for years.

If he scores a century he will secure his spot in the side for the next 12 months.

Batting to the conditions. A novel concept for some.

It is just too bad that Border and Simpson are too old to be an active part of Australia's revival. Neither would stand for the shit dished up by some of the batsmen today.
I'd settle for Steve Waugh.
