Lacklustre day. Have to give credit to the bowlers though, despite the pitch we did manage to keep the chances coming fairly regularly, made them work for their runs more often than not.

Shame Paine didn't push the field in as we let too many catches fall short.

Can you? Zoehrer was already out of the picture in terms of test selection by the time Healy was selected. The keeper he replaced at test level was Greg Dyer. So yeah, any reason for WA patrons to boo Healy? I was at the Shield match WA v Qld where Healy was playing just after being announced as keeper for the Pakistan tour. There was no booing then.

I'd say the odds are shortening by the day that some of the quicks will be rested for the Sri Lankan Tests, they've done a lot of bowling already this summer and the Ashes and World Cup loom.

Yep, though reaction time should the ball unexpectedly fly through may have been the reason why he didn't.

I would have loved for Kohli to lose the toss here - I think he's done India a great service simply by winning it. Very little in the pitch for the bowlers except towards the very end. India batted with great discipline.

Could've been much worse for the Aussies today. Not much to challenge the batsmen, but they still only managed 215. 3.0 should be possible on this pitch. Gonna have to bat for a long time to get to a declaration score at this rate. The rate did pick up when the king came in - up from 2.11 to 2.4ish. But still. Could be a 200 over innings.

The problem isn’t dropping Handscomb. It’s replacing him with someone worse.

Now Marsh will cash in and we’re stuck with the shittruck for another 5 tests or more. It’s truly sad seeing his name in the team
If Mitch Marsh cashes in on this pitch I won’t post in the cricket forums again until this series is over.
India have this won already. I’ve seen enough to convince me that this pitch is tough to score on and will become nearly impossible to survive on by Day 4. My prediction of 200 runs average per day for the Test might have been optimistic.

Merely perspective.
If Australia did this we'd all be saying how great it is.
You’d probably say well played if it was 2/300+ but the fact that neither really got on top is pretty bad. The best games swing back and forth.. this one was a stalemate from ball one. Not an armwrestle, just a dead game.
