Australia v Zimbabwe ODI 2022 Series August-September

Really happy for Zimbabwe. Different team from the old Flower brothers, Goodwin, Streak, etc, but they bowled and caught well today.

Batting is still a bit iffy, but plenty to work with. Australia was disappointing today, but a series win is a series win I suppose. Need to play better and quickly.

Amazing effort Zimbabwe.

Two thoughts on the game Finch should never play again. (his dropped catch and two reviews when BOTH bowlers said they thought it wasn't out is enough without his village batting. Someone else catches the drop and doesn't use those reviews and zimbabwe are nine down with a few to get.

Agar, really? The wicket he took was almost as big a gift as all five of Burl's, and one of them was Agar himself. What the hell was that?

Agar has a really good record in ODI's.
It's not really his go when defending small totals though.

Well that was shocking

Kiwis would have to be favourites next week

This side needs batting practice don’t care what the pitches are like next week bat first all games please

Australia should really not be losing a game to these guys. Pre series 3-0 and winning by a large margin was acceptable.

Australia not that impressive in the series win. Real scratchy performance and this performance will give NZ a bit of confidence .

What was the point of bowling first in the first 2 games? Surely they needed to bat first and learn to post some huge totals

Were tugga and tubs afforded this kind of latitude from the selectors?

I don’t remember either being this bad for this long before they were hog tied and dumped.

Tubs was worse for far longer. He was never good in ODI's and had like two years running without a fifty in first class should have been dropped when he was a baby.

With our batting I don’t see solutions atm the more games we play the more problems we are causing ourselves

Finch is basically one down before we even start

Smith struggles with his strike rate

Our middle order is a shambles

Our tail non existent

Let’s hope against New Zealand we can learn to bat again and post some totals

Our bowling is good our fielding led by carey is average

Finch has scored 21 runs in his past 5 ODI innings. He has worked through bad form before in 2018/19 but he is almost 36 and not moving particularly well.

Dreadful performance. Be interesting to see how we go against a real team in NZ.

Reckon they'll wreck us.

The absolutely ideal result for all supporters.

Zimbabwe fans get to celebrate a famous win against a big 3 nation in what is most likely their last ever bilateral match in Australia.

Neutral fans get to laugh at Australia.

Australia fans get to do what they enjoy most which is feel superior about themselves by complaining about the side and talk about who should and shouldn't be in the XI.

A win for cricket all round yesterday.

Only will be an all round win if Bailey et al give Finch the flick...until then us superior Aussie fans will continue to complain about the selection of certain players and the non selection of others....

When do we start to talk about Marcus Stonis' form?

243 runs at 17.3 in his last 14 innings isn't a great result. 6 of those 14 are double figures with no fifties or centuries.

Sure, the bloke chimes in with overs here and there but he isn't there as a back up bowler, he is there as a batsmen (predominantly in at 5).

People focus on Finch's form but Stoinis isn't far behind imho
