I see its taken 1.5 days of a test and the calls for S Marsh to be recalled have emerged.
They seem to be coming from a very specific demographic, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Mid-30s-and-father-played-for-Australia types wanting to live vicariously through him maybe?

S Marsh is a far better player than anyone in this top 6 and therefore has to go to England for the Ashes. Also Khawaja isnt test standard until he addresses his woeful ineptitude against spin. Discuss
Agree mate. Shaun Marsh is our best bat. Unfortunately for some unknown reason it just doesn’t work for him enough at test level.
Though when it does he’s a joy to watch.

He's our best Test batsman in every regard except for actual output on the field with the bat

The lure of SMarsh is he looks like a test cricketer. Occasionally he even scores like one.

Inevitablyhe gets dropped and we get to see the "technique"" of his replacements.

Until we find a couple more players that look like they have seen a red ball before there will always be that nagging voice in the back of our heads, "maybe this time SMarsh will be different"

Taking a positive outlook...

Marnus values his wicket and Head instantly looks better when he puts away that stupid waft outside off stump.

We're still probably ****** for England though.

They're not going to have to be in great form to roll us.

Unless Smith has a blinder and a couple of the other boys step up and contribute at least semi-regularly.
Who's making their runs?

They have 1 batsman in their top 7 that average over 40. They have 2 inside that top 7 that average in the mid 20's....

I mean, with Warner and Smith back they have a worse batting lineup than us and we have a much better bowling attack....

I can’t understand how anyone could still have that voice. I’ve been a defender of his but he’s just too unreliable in the test format. Time to move on.

Look at Shaun's average list there I forgot he was a massive letdown in India despite one innings. Was supposed to be a potential bright spot thanks to that innings in Sri Lanka but it wasn't to be. Runs against England don't mean much, even the ex-England players basically came out and said the whole county system would need a revamp because their bowlers aren't ever given the tools to be effective here. That says it all really, those runs didn't mean much.
