Think we have a lot of batters best suited to when the field is up. It's also the easiest time to bat so these players tend to perform the best statistically hence the selection but when you cram them all into the same lineup you lose the balance.

I like Klinger but he shouldn't have got near the T20 team. The first couple of overs you need a guy who will light it up and slog a few take alot of risks. We played a team where both openers need to get "set" before they started playing their shots.

Can you name a second string team then?
missing would be
Definately
Starc
Warner
Smith
Wade
Maxwell

Maybe
Hazlewood
Khawaja
M Marsh

So it's about a 1.5 string side

We just have never been much good a T20 for many reasons. Cant blame missing players, most of the missing guys never play T20 much apart from maybe some IPL

paine is a better t20 player than wade.

Hes a good T20 player when he can open. But hes not the best opener in Australia. Wade is better than paine in the middle order.

This is the team balance issue they have, not everyone can open.. some of them need to make runs with 5 fielders out

When you also factor in him being nearly 37 I don't get the point of selecting him.

Smith wouldn't be anywhere near my Australian T20 side. Nor would the bottom 3 except for Khawaja.

Exactly, how do you tell who should be in the team if they don't play big bash? I can't remember ever seeing hazlewood play a T20 match

If it were up to me I'd start big bash earlier, finish earlier & try to get the test team to play the end of big bash before any ODI series starts.

Big bash has been more popular than the ODIS so why compete with it

But the bigger issue is bowling. Most successful BBL teams have 2 spinners and we refuse to play even 1. This overreliance on pace bowling is becoming ingrained in the Australian system & it's no coincidence we can't play anywhere it turns & we struggle in T20 comps.

The idea that Zampa wouldn't be able to handle the shorter boundaries at Geelong was flawed. Most of the dot balls or 1-run shots that he bowled at the MCG did not go very far outside the inner circle.

Its flawed thinking isn't it. These days fast or slow you can get hit over the boundary. With extra pace often it's easier to hit the faster bowlers for 6 as they have less options for variation.

Have some serious doubts about these selectors. All too old to have ever played T20. Time to get guys like hussey or ponting on the panel or specialise it

Ehh??? In English next time

Ahhh yes "than" should have been "that" which any reasonable thinker could have comprehended, even the ADHD riddled T20 supporters

But hey, spelling deflection is the last bastion of a person whose silly remarks have gotten them nowhere

yeah nah nah, it still makes no sense that you are telling me i'll be upset by young people attending? Completely unrelated to the point made to begin with and as your such you don't even have an argument to respond too.

You still haven't enlightened us as to why recovering from 5/50 degrades the game with several matches across the different formats put to you

How about you address those?
