I reckon mine will go close to be honest. Warner and Finch are a bit iffy at the top, but they are brilliant stroke makers when they are in. Marsh and Voges... Do I need to say more? Without researching, I think they are the most prolific batting partnership in domestic cricket. North and Birt down at the depths of the middle order is MORE than handy, as they too know how to build an innings and score heavily. Paine... What a talent. Easily third in line to Wade's job and is progressing well in his comeback. And the bowling attack is amazing. Bird, Bollinger and Copeland make a brilliant swing trio and O'Keefe is the second best spinner in the land.

Warner + Finch
Marsh + Voges
The second best wicket keeper batsman, Paine
The second best spinner, O'Keefe
The best swing bowling trio, Bird, Doug and Copeland

I reckon my bowling pips yours because:

Lyon>Beer
Faulkner=Butterworth
NCN=Putland
Hastings<Harris
Hopes>>>Lynn/Clarke as a 5th option

But I think my batting and yours are both the most solid line-ups. Reggie has a handy one as well. If he picks a spinner with his last pick he'll beat me as the best attack
Fair analysis, but depends on how much emphasis you put on a 5th bowler, and how much you discount Hastings for being a plodder at test level but a good FC bowler
In terms of batting, I reckon mine pips yours in this area because:
Rogers>>Townsend
Cosgrove= Pomersbach (depends a little on emphasis on FC record as opposed to other forms)
Cooper<Burns
Clarke>>Hanscomb
Rohrer/White - depends on how much emphasis is put on last 2 years of form
Lynn>Hopes at batting
Haddin>Hartley at batting
Your tail is slightly stronger than mine, but the difference is small, Hastings vs. Beer, about a 13 run difference, but I reckon my strong top order and decent middle order is slightly better

O'Keefe=3rd best SPINNER, best SPINNING ALLROUNDER. Paine=3rd best wicketkeeper batsman. Bird is great, Copeland a plodder and Boug not doing brilliantly at present

Third best spinner? Who do you think he is behind, Doherty? Doherty is average, the reason why he was chosen to go to India is purely because he has had more international experience

Paine is up there as far as I'm concerned. I would have Paine and Haddin neck and neck, with age awarding Timmy the win. You better have a good case for slamming Copeland :mad: Very good medium pacer who bowls brilliant line and length. Doug is not the shabby either

Faulkner is a very good batsman, you can't have him level with Butterworth, who has only ever performed at FC level

FC averages both =27
Faulkner has had 2 decent ODI innings, and from this, you are implying he has
a) performed above FC level
b) that butter worth couldn't do the same
c) 2 games of decent ODI cricket override both careers of having near identical first class stats

All I was getting at with Copeland is that he is a plodder who is hastings-like and too "military medium" - performs better at FC level than test, unlike, say, a Harris.

Gee, I've missed a bit this afternoon. I'm a vote against the idea of changing the rules now. I've got last pick in the order and I'm happy to have to scramble to find a dud to fill my 11.

And yes, probably biased but I'm really happy with my batting and bowling depth. Who's pick is it?
