I haven't yet found a list of awards and winners so help update the list with any articles you find from outlets boasting of their successes.

The Age got a few gongs with Caroline Wilson awarded Most Outstanding Feature Writer, Michael Gleeson awarded Most Outstanding News Reporter, and Eddie Jim's photo of Nathan Buckley after Lou Richards' funeral awarded Most Outstanding News/Feature Photograph.

Was he the guy who stalked Martin to NZ and back?

I think that was Channel 7's Mark Stevens.

Now Fox are celebrating their wins.

I have it on good authority that midway through the ceremony, it dawned on everyone that they didn't foresee Richmond's rise from the ashes this year, and in light of that, it occurred to everyone that they know NOTHING about the industry of which they are a part, and in a fit of despair everyone rose from their seats and left the room. One by one they departed, and the evening met a premature end.

My thanks to all the fans who protested outside the MCG on Tuesday night. Hopefully next year it'll be more peaceful, and make a bigger impact. Thanks to everyone who came out. Of course we got no publicity, but what do you expect?

Here's what I expected at the Australian Football Media Association Awards (I was way off):

Most Mischievous Caller (television): Basil Zempilas
At the round 9 Hawks v Pies game, Pies fans booed their own players for 'crabbing', and at other times, Hawks fans chanted 'Breust' , and Basil deliberately confused the two.

Most Offensive News Reporter: Brad McEwan
During a 10 News live cross to Collingwood headquarters, Brad informs Alex Fasolo that he has 'no excuses' not to perform well on the weekend. After the interview, Brad apologised to Alex for ambushing him, and on Tuesday night Brad refused to accept his award, on the grounds that he doesn't write his own questions. Brad merely sits in make-up for 30 minutes, reads a teleprompter, and then goes home.

Most Despicable Program (radio): SEN 'Footy Fix' with Matt Granland, David Schwarz & Dr Turf
In the name of comedy, the Footy Fix guys paid tribute to the Magpies 125th Anniversary by brainstorming the 125 biggest Collingwood scandals. This exercise was abruptly abandoned after only 2 minutes. I can only assume that the CFC phoned SEN and told them to knock it off.

Most Despicable Program (television): Footy Classified
Mathew Lloyd deduces that the Collingwood coach 'wouldn't have been reappointed if his name wasn't Nathan Buckley'. Caroline Wilson hopes that 'Nathan hasn't lost his love of the game'.

Most Repugnant arsehole Award (television, radio or print): John Ralph
John's catch cry of 'Buckley should polish his resume' was parroted by no less than three of his colleagues. So upset by the plagiarism was John, that on Tuesday night he asked his colleagues if they were capable of an original thought.

Most Exploitative Organisation: Gain Line
Champion Data struck a nerve with their declaration that the Magpies midfield was the best in the land. Fans of the other 17 clubs were disapproving, and the press were particularly miffed because it didn't suit their narrative that the Magpies are crap. The backlash wasn't lost on Gain Line. The analytics company saw an opportunity to publicise themselves, and submitted an alternate appraisal of the Magpie midfield. Curiously, no-one's heard of Gain Line before or since, and they weren't represented on Tuesday night.

Most Insensitive Columnist: Mark Robinson
Mark lowered his standards yet again in 2017 by suggesting Alex Fasolo couldn't be too depressed if he's still training. Mark is the leading sports writer at the Herald Sun.

Most Exploitative Photographer: Eddie Jim
Eddie took a wonderful photo of the Magpies coach on Flinders Street after the Lou Richards memorial. On Tuesday night Eddie issued an apology for harassing people at a time of grieving.

Most Pathetic Use of Vox Pops: Channel 7
After the Pies loss to the Blues in Round 7, Channel 7 quizzed Pies fans about their coach as they filed out of the MCG. On Tuesday night Gillon McLachlan accepted the award on behalf of 7, offered a belated apology for shutting down Footy Talk Back, and screened some of their best work:
