Wrong, serves her right for showing NO REAL EMOTION post songs. When the judges ask questions I do not want to hear "Thank You" every single damn time. It looks like she prepares answers. There is more to being a entertainer than vocals!

Carl better watch out next week as that is the night I really think he'll struggle. Big Band Night will not suit him, but it will suit Natalie and defiantly Marty and Ben. He better rip one of his songs. But the top 2 should be Natalie and Matt. Put it this way apart from Ben, those would be the only two I would buy albums from. The rest are one-dimensional and won't sell.

Corby is a smart guy i think. He's probably the only one there that knows he doesnt have to be on Idol to succeed, and was kind of embarassed to be at the ARIAS because he's on some TV competition, done nothing in terms of the real world.

I like him more after that. Hope he just doesnt turn into a petulant teenager after each performance.

I think the big wigs at Sony are quietly sh1tting themselves. They have 1 guy who would sell easily, the rest wont be remembered in 12 months time.

The other 3, imo are there primarily because they have the look/personality type that is perfect for Idol. And if they win, it wont translate into album sales.

Kate DeAraugo wasn't dumped by Sony/BMG, she became one the the Young Divas which is a Sony/BMG project and I think they are having their second album released soon with Jessica Mauboy coming into the line up and Ricki Lee dropping out. So not a bad effort for Kate coming into her 3rd album.

Donovan was dump I agree, but it was related to her weight problem.

One performance, and Natalie's performance last week was DEFINITELY better than Tarrassi's. She comes across as boring. She shows no real emotion after her songs, and it frankly looks like she prepares answers. Yes her high vocals are amazing..but so what..being a ENTERTAINER is more than being able to sing high notes. Can she cope with criticism..well tonight showed otherwise (her ranting backstage, not respecting Mark who has done more in the music industry than she has), and swearing all over the place. There is no need for swearing on Prime TV!

Disagree, Matt and Natalie will sell albums. The others will be flops I agree, as Carl's genre doesn't sell and Marty is the weakest out of the top 4.

Ricki Lee carried the Divas, did you notice how BAD their performance was 2 weeks ago..compare that to Ricki Lee's performance tonight! All the Divas are ordinary vocalists! Donovan was a dump, should not have even made the top 12. Sympathy votes at its finest!:thumbsdown:

I disagree there I think the Young Divas were terrific a few weeks back with their guest spot. But I guess our tastes are different if you think what you say in that quote.

As for Tarisia, she is only about 16 isn't she? A 16 yo girl grown up in a pretty straight Christian home. At the start she was a real bible thumper, that was all she knew. I wouldn't think she'd have too much life experience to draw on to put into her songs. She is a a real little boom box but needs to grow up a bit more. Just like Ben, he too had a great voice but hard to believe when he looked so young. Some can pull it off like Matt Corby who is also very young but seems to have the natural ability of finding the right emotional tone in the music he performs.
 
She's 20, and I'm sure her 'bible thumping' didn't teach her words like she was using when she was screaming at Holden. Thank god she's gone :)

Tarrassi is 20 I am pretty certain. She was the oldest of the final 5. Whilst I will say I can understand to a point about her background, at her age you should be able to cope with criticism!

We'll agree to disagree on the Divas, but I'll be dead willing to bet Ricki Lee will sell more albums than those Divas who just flat out can't sing (well most of them) anyway!

Spot on..and well said, those backstage antics are just not on. RESPECT is essential in the music industry, and it is plain obvious she did not respect anyone. And despite the judges WANTING her to open up when questioned, she refuses and says "Thank You"..gosh what a boring contestant in terms of how much they added to the comp!

music is all about personal taste - what I like wont be same as what you do and thats the beauty of it

doesnt make one less talented that the other

I hate to agree with Holden but Karl is the only one that you know what u will get if he puts an album out - wheater its your cup of tea thats ur buisness and Im not here to force you to like it

2/ Ben left weeks ago

I hope Carl wins...I said weeks ago that he is an incredibly gifted musician and deserves to be in the top 3.....Matt, Natalie, Carl....take your pick after that...Carl has a huge support base as well

What does that matter? I don't respect Holden either. Does that mean we should all respect John Howard or Sol Trullio or even Alan Bond? I don't think so. Had Holden been her boss it would have been different but that simply isn't the case. He is merely a "impartial" judge.

And in regards to the swearing on TV in prime time. Blame the producers. They are the ones that ran the footage of the heated argument with Holden, not her

I don't like Tarasai but your points don't make much sense

On the contrary, the "artists" aimed at the adult genre like Noll, Callea and Leith have been the most successful whilst the teenbopper favourites have flopped. There is simply not enough money in the teen demographic to make those teenybopper artists sell a lot of albums compared with the older demos

Spot on - also the teenage demographic is a good deal more transient with taste - as soon as 'the next big thing' comes along, they completely lose interest.
 
I don't see Natalie selling albums - she isn't going to make it on voice alone and she just seems so boring. I wouldn't walk across the street to see her.
