I honestly think Watson would do a better job in the middle order than Bailey, but I understand I have a lack of evidence/recent form to support that theory.
But Bailey will lose his spot to Clarke you would think? So the question really is which two do you pick out if Watson, Marsh and Faulkner?

Yeah if Clarke comes back it is for Bailey and I would definitely be playing Marsh/Faulkner ahead of Watson.

Still think the question marks hanging over Clarke are astronomical though.

Watson is on a hiding to nothing for the next game, if he makes runs they 'wont count' and if he doesn't...
You're right, but he's put himself in that position.

I actually don't mind players boosting their average against minnows. But when you're struggling overall, particularly against quality sides, you need to put it into context.

A player averaging 40 against good sides and 55 against minnows is fine IMO.

Why are recent stats being used against me when my original comment was regarding career statistics?

I have freely acknowledged on another thread that Watson being dropped would be justified. I just think somebody has a right to stand up for an Australian player when they get abused 24/7.

Cause the wc is now and not in three years ?

If Faulker and Clarke are fit when the going gets tough, and Watson is still in the 11. It's a dam joke.

Sick of this guy how many years ffs

If he makes a 90 against afganistan or UAE or the bangers lets build a statute outside the g

Who do we put his bronze statue next to? Leigh Matthews? Warne? Sir Don?;)

One thing's for sure he'd either have to be in his trademark falling over his front pad LBW pose or his dumbfounded I'll review that pose:p

Selection now becomes very interesting if Clarke is fit.

I was harsh on Finch, but I still feel his game is lacking. He should've been out early, but good on him for cashing in when he got a chance.

If Clarke is to come in next match, I still think we will drop Bailey. But Watson looks a shadow of what he once was in ODIs, with both bat and ball. Legit have no idea which way it'll play. I'd be inclined to go...

I don't like 20/20. Infact, I don't really think its cricket. However, given finch 20/20 stats. And his odi stats. Why would you not have him in the team? Its like have two sewags with finch and Warner. Australia has a long tail so the extra slogger doesn't hurt. Better than Watson ffs

Don't mind that side. Clarke and Smith are a flip of a coin for 3. Is that for the next match?

oh and EFA seeing as you must have missed Haddin.

I'd be very open to MMarsh becoming our ODI #3 (maybe post World Cup). The guys has a brilliant technique and he'd make some big scores at the top of the order. He hits the ball so ******* hard.
Marsh
Smith
Clarke

All good options

Just send w
