Play both and stop the idea of playing a 10% fit Clarke. I'd rather have Shaun Marsh in the squad!
You made the comment Marsh/Watson. I picked one of the two. If Clarke was 10% fit he wouldn't be playing, so I suggest his fitness would be better than that. CA isn't that incompetent.

Clarke for Bailey and if news reports are to be believed and we may go with 4 quicks (Cummins) then bye bye Watson. It's going to happen anyway when Faulkner's back available...

look if he was "10% fit" with his hamstring problems, he wouldn't have even started running yet!

They're not that incompetent
I'll believe it when I see it! They don't have a great recent track record...lets go through a few

1. Clarke plays in the UAE injured, looks like a turtle out there and can't move
2. Clarke plays the 1st test unfit, passed by CA
3. Pattinson comes back, breaks down in 1 test
4. Cummins comes back, and they rush him in, breaks down again

They really have butchered a lot of injuries lately!

and I'll believe you when I see it confirmed by a medical expert. As it stands you're just trying to put 2 and 2 together, who knows you may be getting 4, it may also be giving the answer 5!:D;)

We have a world cup at stake, I strongly doubt they'd be putting him out there while injured, he's played grade cricket, warm ups, has bowled, fielded and hasn't got inured yet.

Going by the logic that because players have got injured first game back, then the Geelong doctors are incompetent too! Menzel's broken down first game back as well, despite all the due diligence.

The only one where I'm categorically convinced is the Adelaide test.........

I didn't see it in a paper, I heard it on the news. Watson could make way. Don't see it myself as he has one of Willy Wonka's golden tickets.
I saw it yesterday on the CA website then heard it again today on the news. Am starting to think it's just scuttlebutt to distract everyone (hint you are going to do something but you have no intention of doing it, just keeps press/oppo busy for a while). Agree, would not drop either Maxwell or Marsh ahead of Watson.

As much as I love a derby win. Beating Chelsea made my season! because I didn't see it coming at all:thumbsu:

back on topic. Will be surprised if Maxwell makes way for the 4th seamer. damaging batsmen in a reduced match.
Well we are talking about two of the same selectors who though Maxwell belonged in a test team- at number 3.

So who the hell knows. But dropping Maxwell for Cummins and keeping Clarke because you expect the match to be 20 overs a side is similarly insane.

Hopefully Mark Waugh knocks some sense into the other selectors

Maybe Waugh is the problem, he loves Pat Cummins.

On subcontinent pitches, no way in hell they'd hold that view for a test match in Australia.

The only thing I can think of is that they want to give Clarke a hit before the match vs NZ, which let's be honest could determine top spot.

Mark Waugh as the sensible selector, that's a sad indictment......

The logic behind Cummins is pretty decent- he's a better bowler than Marsh and Watson and if the match is reduced to 20 overs you don't want part timers bowling 8.
It's no coincidence that the two teams that played in the BBL final both played 5 bowlers.

The only insane thing if you expect the match to be 20 overs aside would be bringing in Clarke and dropping Marsh or Maxwell.

Can't agree with that side sorry. I don't think we'll see Mitch Marsh at 3. Shaun Marsh has for to be in front of Ferguson you would think, as would Cameron White. I think there are a few keepers ahead if Dunk and Johnson is still bowling well.
