Day One prediction schedule*

Rod Laver Arena (Day)
Maria Sharapova v Nao Hibino
Agnieszka Radwanksa v Christina McHale
Novak Djokovic v Hyeon Chung

Rod Laver Arena (Night)
Serena Williams v Camila Giorgi
Roger Federer v Nikoloz Basilashvili

Margaret Court Arena (Day)
Kristina Mladenovic v Dominika Cibulkova
Vasek Popspisil v Gilles Simon
Jo-Wilred Tsonga v Marcos Bagdatis

Margaret Court Arena (Night)
Sam Stosur v Qualifier
Phillip Kohlscriber v Kei Nishikori

Hisense Arena
Daria Gavrilova v Lucie Hradecka
Petra Kvitova v Qualifier
Tomas Berdych v Yuki Bhambri
Nick Kyrgios v Pablo Carreno Busta (6pm start)

*Under the proviso that tournament organisers allow likes of Tomic and Halep to play day two allowing more recovery/travel after Sydney tournament. Also allows Hewitt to play Tuesday day/night and give Channel 7 time to drum up ratings/promotion.
I think the Tsonga v Bagdatis match would be better suited to Hisense but organisers will probably put Kyrgios on Hisense for his round one match to help promote the great value of a $30 ground pass
Day two prediction schedule:

Rod Laver Arena (Day)
Keys v Diyas
Wawrinka v Tsurnov
Hewitt v Duckworth

Rod Laver Arena (night)
Azarenka v Van Uytavuvk
Nadal v Verdasco

Margaret Court Arena (day)
Muguruza v Kontaveit
Halep v Qualifier
Murray v Zverev

Margaret Court Arena (night)
Tomic v Instomin
Ivanovic v Patterson

Hisense Arena
V.Williams v Konta
Kerber v Doi
Janowicz v Isner
Groth v Mannirino (6pm start)

Insanely good draw for all those players. Everyone a chance to progress.
Very good draw for the aussies!

On a side note Channel 7 will have to settle for Hewitt v Duckworth being a day game on RLA Tuesday arvo.

The orginal plan would have been to have it at night for ratings but Nadal v Verdasco is simply a better match to slot ahead of it into prime time.

Round 2 Hewitt v Ferrer will get RLA night session on the Thursday

Aren't ratings best at night? Unless Hewitt specifically requests a day match it'll be at night IMO.
They are but geez it is a tough call by organisers. The aussie battle~ Hewitt and the Spanish showdown both are ideal evening RLA matches but they can only choose one...

Hewitt's likely last match will be against David Ferrer. Pretty fitting to be playing against another grinder held in high regard by the other players. Might go to 5 sets.

When do they usually release the order of play? I thought last year it was around lunchtime on the Saturday?

Yeah hooked back on the idea that Hewitt v Ducky should get the 7pm timeslot. Look after own aussie champ have it in the evening spot with the Spanish Showdown in the arvo.

On a side note... Ferrer is $101 to win the tournament...plays Hewitt in 2nd round them Murray in quarters. I want Hewitt to win but Ferrer should on form.
Then Murray might have to make a mad dash home in second week if wife has the baby so that opens the door for Ferrer to at least make semis....
Djokovic will beat Ferrer but it wouldn't hurt to throw a $10 or 20 on him @$101.

Can anybody guess the likelihood of Tomic vs Fognini (assuming both make the 3rd round) being on Margaret Court on Saturday if the other big matches on the same day are Nadal vs Chardy, Wawrinka vs Sock, Murray vs Sousa?

Which 2 of these games would be on RLA and which 2 on MCA?

Thanks.

Tomic will be Saturday nite v Fognini

Anyone hazard a guess on Friday nights draw?
Have tickets to Friday nite..

Am hoping its Kyrgios v Berdych
thinking more likely
Federer v Dimitrov

womens probably
Stosur (assuming she makes it this far) V Radwanska (if that is the side of the womens draw)

Kyrgios v Berdych and Fed v Dimitrov would be a slight dilemma for organisers. Both worthy of 7pm evening timeslot

Ferrer is borderline finished. Another player hanging around the top 10 due to failed generations of young players. I wouldn't waste $10 if he were $10000 to win the tournament. I wouldn't even count out an inspired Hewitt in the 2R. His draw means he'll probably claw his way to a nasty loss against Murray in the quarters though.

It would be Kyrgios imo. He will play all his games in an evening slot. My guess is Round 1 and maybe 2 on HA and RLA after that.

Pretty good schedule.

I'm surprised with the night session on MCA though.

Good value ticket compared to Fed and Stosur IMO.
Sharapova rarely plays away from RLA and Tsonga/Baghdatis has 5 setter late night battle written all over it

Any idea why Berdych is on the second best court? Thought Kyrgios would've had priority over him.
My guess is organisers want to drum up the opportunity to promote the value of ground passes by saying you can go watch Kyrgios in opening round for $30

I get the idea of what they are trying to do but I think that is where the confusion arises. If they want people to buy MCA tickets then they need to make it attractive and schedule it as the number two court. MCA does have a good night session though but the day session is poor compared to what is on Hisense.
