"Last year's phenomenal results for her were built on the back of fourteen years of hard work."
— Commentator, speaking about Angelique Kerber

Dear Channel 7,

Nick Kyrgios is not a "bad boy".

He is a dickhead, and his behaviour should not be made light of.

Sincerely,
Tennis Fans Everywhere.
You don't speak for me as a tennis fan. And tennis fans frequent this board throughout the year, not just for 2 weeks in January like yourself

Does anyone know why Alex De Minaur chooses to base himself in Spain? I've never heard why. Not that he shouldn't it's just an unusual step for a young Aussie to take. Family there? Problems with TA?
His parents or a parent is from there. Spent much of his life living in both countries

Don't tell me that hack Basil has taken over from Bruce!?

I think I heard that Bruce is taking a year off. As opposed to what he normally does, which is come in on zero prep time, ask a shiteload of stupid questions, collect a big cheque, and go home to SA again.

They've been grooming him to take over for some time.

You better believe it.

Bruce may not be perfect but he's a shitload better than Basil. I just can't believe how he gets all these high profile media roles, its like he never reads any of the bad press about him because channel 7 filter his computer so that the very few positive comments are the only ones that remain, and so they keep promoting him.

My interest in the women's matches in this year's AO is definitely lacking compared to previous years. I think it might be due to the fact that Ana Ivanovic has retired and Sloane Stephens and Maria Sharapova aren't playing and they are two of my favourite women's players. I'll be watching the Williams sisters, Bouchard and Ash Barty closely though.

I'm sorta in an in-between phase with the women's game. Loved watching Clijsters, Henin, Li, Dokic, Zvonereva, Ivanovic and so forth and haven't really managed to find "replacements" that I take great interest in. I really like Dasha but her inconsistency makes her a tad difficult to follow at times.

Women's tennis also feels (to me) like it's getting to the point where there are two archetypes - your heavy, power hitters and your skillful, finesse types - with little variation and not much in between. The mental strength of a lot of players on tour at the moment leaves a lot to be desired as well. Just struggle to follow it at the moment.

to go the whole day tomorrow ground pass only, would get to see kyrgios or go to the margaret court night session roughly the same price but would only get in after 5pm , tomic and barty are on margaret court tomorrow night

Damn Opelka making waves now. 2 sets all with Goffin! There's a very very good batch of young american kids coming through now. Paul, Opelka, Fritz, Mmoh, Tiafoe, Kozlov all look very sweet. Chuck in Donaldson and Rubin too... as a nation they'll be a force soon.
