Really enjoyed my 3 days at the open. Would have spent 20 hours inside the venue all up and too many matches to count. The best match I watched was probably the first. Schmieds v Mertens #notbias......

The worst was the kasatkina match. I would love to know what happened. Just dreadful. That should have been a showcase of shot making. Instead it was the worst performance I have seen live.

Shame to be going home on Sunday :(

Went to the Aus open today and the security guards take their job waaay too seriously. Walking along Swan street this morning we had some guy who had yelled himself hoarse yelling at everyone that if they're on the footpath they can't get in, they need to line up along the blue wall. Calm down mate, everyone knows where the entrance is.

The second guy we went to see Djokovic warming up and there was a queue of people to get near the court. We pause for a split second to look for the end of the queue and the security guard is on us like a rabid wolf about needing to keep moving, even though we're standing in the middle of a grassed area away from the footpaths.

How much of a campaigner do you have to be to treat security at the Australian Open like a secret service job.

Strange schedulling tomorrow if I am reading it right. RLA has two singles during the day and a legends doubles, yet MCA has four singles matches all in the one session.

What makes it more unusual is when they have only one channel why play a singles each on MCA and Melbourne Arena in the early evening.

Has anyone else noticed that MCA looks quite empty at times? TA boasting about record attendances once again this year, are most people just buying ground passes and sitting in those open areas watching the matches on the big screens?

Yet on the website it's always said sold out. The worst was last night match between RBA and Cilic, looks really empty.

I am looking at booking accomodation during next years Aus Open. It looks like nothing is confirmed publically but that it may start on Monday Jan 20 which is a fair bit later than this year.

Anyone heard any rumours on dates?

I haven't heard anything but it usually ties in with the last two weeks of the Victorian school holidays, so that would mean it starts on Monday the 13th. What makes you think it would be the 20th?

Yeah thats what I thought but I think I heard it mentioned that it would be a week later as the 13th is to early. I do seem to remember Australian Day being on the middle weekend a few times?

Perhaps I should hold off but I like the look of this accomodation I found and the price.
