I have never liked the scheduling at this stage of the tournament but not sure what can be done.

You shouldn't have 2 women playing a semi little more than 24 hours after their quarter final.

Yes they are on almost equal rest, but if either had played a 3 hour match, I'd say that player would be a dog going into their semi.

I guess the thinking is it's fairer to give all players equal (2 days) rest for the final.

They could put the 2nd womens semi as the first night match on the thursday night to allow for more rest.

She lost 7 finals. Should not have retired the first time and should have gotten serious with physical fitness training early. Would have achieved more singles success at slams had she done that. Still easily one of my favourite players to watch. Hingis on a doubles court is genuine tennis magic.

They used to do that up to the early 2000's before they started the men's night Semi's. All women's 4th round matches were played Sunday, Quarters Tuesday, Semi's Thursday.

They will be fine. they are used to playing day after day.

Bo3 allows them to be flexible.

Yeh it's true. Most tournaments during the year they often play without a day's break
Best of 3 isn't as taxing

From a spectator POV I don’t like the scheduling of the second week at all. After the frenetic pace of week 1 it just seems to slow down to a snail’s pace, especially as they have day and night sessions to fill.

Not a chance. Sorry guys, its tennis. These things happen. You pay for the session and not the players. There is always the risk this happens. I feel sorry for the people last year who paid even more for the semi and only got an hour of Fed v Chung.

I think the actual clause is that if you get 1 hour of play in, then no refunds. Kei and Novak played over an hour themselves. That doesn't count the 2 hour long doubles afterwards.
