Day 1 saw some epic long matches. Collins was fully tested over 3 hours while Nadal outlasted Draper. No massive shocks(whats happening FAA) as of yet but the night session is still to come. Still the schedule is out, so let's get cracking.
Weather: super hot. 36C. Late Shower and thunderstorms possible. Will stay above 20C the whole day
Rest of week. Wednesday is when the cool change happens with wet weather but it shall be sunny for the rest of the week.

The Rest
There are several tasty matches. Again, most of them start the day. Muguruza and Mertens look good on paper but both players are coming off poor 2022s. Likewise, Thiem is coming off a long run-up and hasn't shown form since coming back. Playing Rublev looks great on paper but perhaps not in reality.
Only 1 Aussie on the main 3 courts of Melbourne Park. Probably showcases the talent gap we have with injuries and retirements. Reckon most Aussie eyes will be on the Kokk v Flognini, in a match which should see some tasty drama, something this open will lack without the Special K's. Surprised that one isn't the night match on JCA but glad they still have an Aussie, and our only Seed, on there for prime-time audiences.
Match of the Day
Berrettini (13) - Murray
Murray doesn't have it in him to win a grand slam. But he is a very dangerous opponent, especially first up. Just ask Tsitsipas. These 2 played twice last year, once in the final of Stuttgart and the other was the 3rd round at New York. both were wins to Berrettini but both times Murray took a set of Matteo. I don't see Murray winning, especially if it is indoors where Berrettini will find it easier to serve and forehand his way to easy games(though it could might be harder if Berrettini can't hit through the humid indoor arena). But I just see a long one as you know Murray will fight and creak his way to every ball.
