This is an excellent match, I was expecting the Djokovic v Tsonga match to be a good one but this is far better.
Personally want Chardy to win, not just because of an easier opponent for Bolt, but also because I like an underdog.

I cannot remember so many high quality 2nd round matches in a grand slam:
Chardy vs zverev
Anderson vs tiafoe
Nishikori vs karlovic
Wawrinka vs raonic
Djokovic vs tsonga
Monfils vs fritz

Of course you do :)

But just for a moment think how incredibly huge it would be for this tournament if alex got the win!

Unlikely and there is more chance of Popyrin winning. Imagine how huge it will be for Popyrin if he got the win against Poullie and progressing to the next round.

That 'record' will be broken tonight! What match was that by the way? I thought it may have been Hewitt v Baghdatis, but that was apprently 11:47pm.

BREAKING NEWS: Lleyton Hewitt has responded about the Tomic saga again tonight in a presser. Blackmail and threats against his family were significant.
More to come.

If that’s happened it’s not a great look

His points about favouring players and Hewitt not playing doubles is probably fair though.

They really need to sit down and talk it out
