It’s nuts.Yep we are going OTT over this.
Glad I got back to Sydney when I did. Have it so much nicer hereIt’s nuts.
They still don’t have too many contenders though I guess there’s Kenin on the women’s but that’s it. They SHOULD be producing a lot they have goodness knows how many players in the poolHas anyone noticed the slow resurgence of US tennis in the last few years?
Was trekking very similar to Australia at one point (besides the Williams sisters) but is now looking a lot better.
That’s all Di Minaur has. Never has had weapons.Haven't watched De Minaur much overall but underwhelming tonight to say the least.
Playing way too conservative, doesn't really try to hit winners, just uses his speed to get to balls and get it back into play and hope the opponent hits unforced errors.
Kyrgios is easily levels above him as the best Aussie.
De Minaur needs to return the ball around the baseline otherwise he is in trouble. Against Fiogrini types, he just doesn’t have a weapon to be proactive.Haven't watched De Minaur much overall but underwhelming tonight to say the least.

No chance. The tournament can run effectively without fans, whilst keeping players in a bubble.I wonder if there will be an announcement of some sort tomorrow.
“From 11.59pm tonight, there will be no more tennis”.
Pevolarakis tested positive for COVIDWhat happened with the tennis now? Can’t they have the rest of the tournament now?
Ok I’m assuming this is a player.Pevolarakis tested positive for COVID
Yep. Played ATP Cup with Tsitsipas.Ok I’m assuming this is a player.

it is of no concernPevolarakis tested positive for COVID
Perhaps but would not be surprised if Andrews takes the “we have to treat this case like it was acquired in our country” approach.it is of no concern
he tested negative when he left Australia on 9th of Feb. Arrived in Doha afterwards. South Africa also uses the rapid covid test, which likes to give false positives and is not as reliable as the one we use. (but quicker)
'Actually the worry is either he's caught in transit ( unlikely ) or he has caught in the community - This is why I preferred the 'bubble' as opposed to quarantine and then into the community - Remember players have been out of quarantine for two weeks.
Well, this could be a story.
probably not be though. long transit between the 2 nowadays or a false positive, if it is a rapid test
Meh...he’s gone home tested negative before he left.Pevolarakis tested positive for COVID
I’m not wanting to stop play. I just know what our government is like down here.Meh...he’s gone home tested negative before he left.
Can we get on with enjoying a good tournament rather than wanting to stop play for every minor thing...
Yep it’s a bunch of overprotective campaigners that are useless. There’s onlya week left, deal with it then. So happy with how NSW have gone about it.I’m not wanting to stop play. I just know what our government is like down here.
De Minaur along with Millman were disappointing - De Minaur arrived at the OZ Open having won a lead up tournament in Turkey, so he's form was OK.
Millman is ranked 38 and managed to lose to a player ranked 80, while De Minaur who is ranked 5 places behind Fognini, should not have been comprehensively outplayed in straight sets. Were they that disappointing? Both are honest triers with no weapons, that’s a 3rd to 4th round at absolute best in a grand slam.
Millman is solid but he’s exactly that. Get a bloke with weapons and he’s toast. Di Minaur is the same and Fognini has been as high as 7 in the world. He’s a MUCH better player with more weapons. Only way De Minaur was winning was if Fabio hit 50 unforced errorsMillman is ranked 38 and managed to lose to a player ranked 80, while De Minaur who is ranked 5 places behind Fognini, should not have been comprehensively outplayed in straight sets.
