Nadal really pushes the envelope doesn’t he? Almost dares the umpire to call a violation on him. Oftentimes the timer would get to 3 seconds left then he ll bounce.
He’s mental rather then physically during the big points. Does all that right.

He doesn't want a coach because that would mean he would have to train hard. Who would be a good coach for NK?
Well then that's the best we'll probably see of him there's a reason every other top player has a coach.

Don't get me wrong what he showed this summer on and off the court(bushfires) was great. But he's 24 and still without a coach.

I'm a fan but he's got the game to win Grand Slams and he's not taking it seriously, hope he proves me wrong.

If Nick continues moving upwards a top 5 ranking means avoiding Rafa in the 4th round ....should be Nick's aim .
His aim should be to climb the rankings and get to the pointy end by avoiding the top players?

To be the best, he has to beat the best.

His summer has been ok but he was injured through the ATP cup for a match. His attitude has been good, he'll probably go off and play a few mickey mouse tournaments over in South America. The big test will be when he plays in America at Masters 1000 events. I'm not a fan and it is because he blows up unnecessarily. I don't understand how someone who has so much talent does not want to be No. 1 or win a GS or train hard. Plus not want a coach.

Some sports people take time to mature maybe.

Insane how slow the balls and courts are @AustralianOpen this year. Slowest it's ever been? Slowest grand slam there is now? #AusOpen #AusOpen2020

another Craig Tiley F-- up. maybe being a bit harsh on him.

Our point of difference from the US Open was that we had the faster hard court. it allowed hard fast and aggressive tennis. there has been a lot of discussions that the balls are the clause. that the new hardcourt surface is roughing them up more quickly.

would love to see the actual speed rating of the courts. The ATP does them for all atp-1000 tournaments.

So the company that laid the Australian Open courts this year is a Spanish company! Ebden also mentioned the balls are have no pop after a couple of games.

Always have been a problem, even when Hewitt was number 1 in 2002. He said as much too back then. It’s not really making the balls skid low but rather extra bounce.

A top 5 or 10 rating is within his reach he currently beats the top ten on occasions plus after the Ausopen he could be top twenty .

He beat Medvedev in straight sets as well as can take it up to Zverev. That’s the top 5.
De Minaur is a bloody ferocious trainer and hard worker but lacks the firepower, yet. But put him and add Kyrgios you’d have a top 3 player.
He’s a big fan of basketball so should look for Kevin Durant for guidance in that hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. Cannot be more truer then that to Nic. Has all the talent but needs that extra bit more. He’s comfortably Australians best men’s player

It’s been slow for years though

actually, they were perfect in the 2010's. Nice and fast. Federer success at this tournament and Nadal's lack of success(among other things)was based on that. And of course Novak. heck, we had Micha Zverev serve and volleying past Murray and into the quarters in 2017. It was awesome

Something changed this year, as Pepsi said. new suppliers.

Edit: found this wonderful article on the issue.

I just think if he gets enough chances in GS he could win one but as you say needs to totally invest in it .

Needs to get fitter and stop flopping sets in early rounds. He lost 3 sets in the rounds prior needlessly. It takes a toll physically.
