Most likely Djoko vs Nadal #453. Medvedev cannot beat Nadal 😂
yeah totally.

It wasn't Medvedev who pushed Nadal to 5 in the US Open final, despite having no legs since the quarter-finals

and It wasn't Medvedev who won their last encounter.

Its his back

How about we stop having a crack at injured players. It's hardly a surprise this has happened in the men's tournament. Months of no match play, maximum of a 1 tournament lead up event that was interrupted, players in quarantine leading up to the event.

Then you expect them to come out after all of that and play beat of 5 set matches, sometimes in the heat and for them to all remain healthy.

Injuries happen all the time in sport, suddenly tennis players are not allowed to get injured.

I get that but it hasn’t been hit the entire tournament it’s been very mild let’s be real

The heat is one factor. It's hot today, it's been hot a couple of other days. Players have had no chance to acclimatise to the heat under match conditions.

All the other factors I listed remain. I'm sick of people having a go at injured players in the tennis thread.

It is warm it’s only 32 or whatever. That’s still a fairly mild to warm day. Not as if it’s 40.

Look there are factors sure but Nadal has shown it’s fine and Dimitrov basically behind Tsisipas has had the most cruise of a draw

what are you talking about. Dimitrov beat Theim last round, the 3rd seed.

And this has nothing to do with the heat. It is his back. It seized up yesterday. For a "pea heart", your words not mine, the fact Grigor barely retires and is still out there showcases that perhaps you are wrong.

I truly don't get what Dimitrov is thinking here, he clearly is not fit enough to continue and even if by some miracle he flukes a win, it's doubtful he would even be able to take the court in a semi.

and while I am at it, Nadal changed his service technique for the first 2-3 rounds. That is how bad his back is or was. He could do that because he played players incapable of beating him. Aslan, by being in the quarters and beating FAA and Diego, is not that, nor is Grigor=Nadal, nor has Grigor had any time to adapt to this.

Let's go Karat Safin

Put Jo Griggsy out to pasture

playing for time. perhaps it will get better. worked for "he who can not be named as it will create too much pointless discussion". but ND had 2 sets to give up.

But yeah, seems pointless. But some tennis players dont like retiring. See Venus this year and Fed's record.
