Stosur never made it past the fourth round (only once too) in 10 years of her peak.

Barty made it to the final 4 at her first real attempt at it since hitting her peak.

Barty also already knows how to prepare and come back after a long layoff as she's already done it before when she went and played cricket.
That will have helped her enormously to prepare well so she's ready to hit top gear straight away after this covid layoff.

Plus she's avoided all the quarantine and travel mess which gives her a very handy edge over her rivals- even the ones who got the gucci quarantine in adelaide.

She'll go deep into the 2nd week.


Kyrios on the other hand will probably be defaulted for smashing one of the new line judge cameras because he won't have anyone but himself to blame and his head will explode.
