A wildcard named Cindy Watson who I'd never heard of got through. So did a couple of others - Breanne Stuart and Nicole Pratt. But they're unlikely to go much further.
Phillipoussis was the only Aussie bloke to go through to the second round.

Well, we've got nobody in the men's draw now after the 'poo looked under prepared against Gred Rusedski, so now i'm going for Timmay Henman.

Having been out at the Open today, those Swedish fans are something special so it'd be nice to see one of them win the Open.
Saw Bjorkman knock off Enqvist in a classic match on Show Court 1. Thomas Johansson looked good in his match today (one of the few seeds who did), so he could be a chance.

Go Jonas. He is one of my favourites. His style of play is so entertaining to watch.

Andy Roddick has had to withdraw after rolling his ankle at 8-7 in the first set tiebreak. He tried to play on but couldn't.

Disappointing to lose him considering it's his first time here as a senior player and he is popular with the crowd.

Some of the winners today include Safin, Haas, Rios, Henin, Mauresmo and Lapentti.

Clement was upset by Gaudio, Sampras currently leads Chela by 2 sets to love but is down a break in the third.

Nicole Pratt and Cindy Watson are also both through.

Watson and Pratt drew some bad luck with the Belguim connection in round 3. Clijsters and Henin will be tough to get by.
