Oh what a bloody night... Who went last night?
I can honestly say that was the most fired up crowd i have ever seen. It was just so damn loud between points.
Lleyton was just brilliant last night, sure he wasn't at his best but he still got the job done and thats all that we can ask for.
CMON!!

Apparently tournament organisers tried to reschedule the Williams - Mirza game to allow Hewitt and Baghdatis on first, but the attempt was blocked by Venus Williams who wouldn't allow it.

That's right Venus, the fans came to see you.

Yeah, I saw that a few pages back. She should cop some serious heat for that. Absolutely selfish decision if true (same goes for Mirza if she had a say too).

Kohlschreiber was down 0-40 in his first service game but managed to come back to hold against Nieminen. He also just blew a break point of his own on Nieminen's service game. Only in the second game and there's been four break point chances already, but no conversion.

EDIT: Kohlschreiber ended up breaking in that second game when he got another break point opportunity after a couple of deuces.

Ah yes i heard that...
Venus is a bloody cow (won't say the other words that are on my mind right now) it's all well and good for her isn't it?
I bet that she didn't even stop to think about Lleyton and Marcos. It was basically her fault that they had to play until 4.30am.
She's a disgrace.

And now Ferrero has an early break on Nalbandian.

Nieminen breaks back against Kohl! I've got a feeling this match could be pretty crazy.

We've got 3 top quality matches going on and we need to watch a replay (to be fair it was a good game)
This complete bull.
I'd like to see Nalbandian get beaten today.
Ferrero leads Nalbandian 3-0

Playing the selfish card, but if i was asked if i would like to play AFTER a marquee match, when i was originally scheduled to go on first.... i'd whinge and complain aswell.

I wouldn't want to play after midnight, the only people watching then would be the chair umpire, the ball kids AND the opponent at the other side of the net.

Speaking of which, i was thinking about this with the Federer match, imagine being an umpire and having to sit through a 5 set match, 4+ hours of moving the head from left to right. Your buttocks going to sleep for being in the same position for so long.

At least the umpire would've seen a great match i guess!

I was under the impression that the suggested move wouldn't be to put Venus vs. Mirza after the Hewitt vs. Baghdatis match. It was to move it to Vodafone after the Monaco vs. Berdych match, or maybe even play it this morning.

Also, if some of those fans were specifically there to see that women's match then wouldn't they have been able to get into VA (and then later back into RL to watch the mens match)?

I dont blame Venus, she would have been going on court around 3:00. It makes sense to have her match first, it was always going to be quicker. And you can't move the match, people didn't pay to go and wait around for 2 and a half hours outside to see one match

What the **** is going on with Nalbandian. Been hammered in the first 2 sets.

Inconsistancy is the killer for Nalbandian. But never count him out, he can fire up at any given point in this match no matter how unlikely it may seem.

Ferrero leads Nalbandian, 6-1, 6-2

Ferrer about to go 2 sets to love up and Hantuchova cruises into the next round with a straight sets win.

I lost all respect for Nalbandian as a player and as a person the day that he spat at Hewitt a few years back.
That's why i couldn't be more pleased that Ferrero is giving him a hiding.

He spat at Hewitt?? I thought that was his fellow Argentinian??

Seven better show the Tsonga/Gasquet and Williams/Vaidisova matches. Both should be crackers.
