Tiebreaker! C'mon Baghdatis!

Baghdatis wins the tiebreak 7-4, we're going into a 5th.

Nice choke Hewitt.

 Back from 5-1 down. This is incredible.

Very similar to the Blake vs. Grosjean match today.

The latest singles match in Aus Open history, 3.45am and still another set to go

By the time some of these people get home it will be light again.

Incredible.

whoever wins this has got quite a disadvantage in the next match

Just think of what we've seen....

And then look at what we have to look forward to.

I can't wait. Some cracking games net round.

Looks like Hewitt's abysmal record at the Australian Open will continue.

1 quarter final in 12 attempts.

Pretty shit really :thumbsd:

baghdatis has really lifted now

still cant beleive hewitt didnt take that set 6-0 that was absoluting shocking

God. What a horrible albeit absorbing match.

Both players seem to be living and dying off some terrible losses of confidence and momentum from the other player.

They mentioned on the radio how many good matches there have been in Week 1. But they have all been men's matches.

Women don't play after midnight. Women aren't playing at 4 ****ing AM.

Women play for 40 minutes and are 110% refreshed for their next round. Men are ****ed and have to rely on more than tennis ability. Men need to reach deeper to get the job done. Women get equal pay, and it's even been suggested they should get more than the men .

Look at the current match. No way two women could show the intestinal fortitude guys display time and time again.

Considering how tired they both must be you can't really blame them.

I'm not really sure what to think, to be honest.

I can't remember a match like it for quite a while. (And, before someone says 'what about Grosjean and Blake?', there was much more momentum behind Blake in the last two sets than either of these guys right now.)

Roddick v Younes Aynaoui in 2003. 21-19 Fifth Set.

No .

With Hewitt holding his serve it would take another choke for him to lose, well here's hoping.

Nah, wouldn't really class that match as being the same.

As I recall it, both guys that night were in tremendous form, hitting a lot of clean winners (as opposed to horrid unforced errors) and generally playing at a much higher level than this.

haha

always makes it so hard for himself

oh well go casey
