I agree about the whole black and white thing.

Did you happen to see a big fella with a beardish type thing in Blacky's team? I know him and two other players.. the thug looking one with the beard is Andrew, and last year he repeated year ten at Henley High :D

Happen to see anyone in a purple jumper near the dugouts when the coach and that guy from Beaurepairs were talking? If so, that was me! :D

Can't see I noticed any of them, but I'm sure you did a great job!

PS : I never refer to Max as 'that guy from Beaurepairs'. Rather, I feel it to be more appropriate he is known as 'that guy from the league'. (Juggers are coming!)

LOL thanks.

I had no idea what his name was, but I'll make sure I refer to him as 'that guy from the league' from now on!

Hye does anyone know if the movie has been released on dvd or video yet because i am dying to see it and by the time i went to watch it at the movies it had already finished screening.

Thanks

The team's colours were in black and white because the book's author came from a crappy town called
Waikerie, about 45 minutes from here, and they are the Magpies.
Several Waikerie favourites made appearances in the film - from memory Jeff Gay (the man with the audacious handle bar mustache) I think was the footy coach, while John Matthews (fat little fella) was possibly a trainer. One of the younger cast members with blond hair, Rhys Horner, I think he played a friend of the lead actor, is also from Waikerie. He appears to have a future as an actor and has also appeared in The Adventures of Chuck Finn, filmed at Blanchetown, and McLeod's Daughters.

Badger, I have to ask, what was it like watching a footy match which was being filmed? I'm assuming it would have been interesting before the novelty wore off, then it would have been pretty boring, with all the stop start...

Good movie I thought, more interesting than Rabbit Proof Fence, in terms of portraying the clash between 'us and them'. The blok who played Blacky was brilliant. Did it perfectly. Probably the most underrated Australian movie I know of.
