I received a letter from that prick with an offer to purchase, or rather for me to give him, shares that I own in a company at a 30+% discount to their current value.

I imagine many here who own shares may have received his "offers" in the past, as I also have.

This pr!ck is nothing but a ____ing parasite. He preys on the uninformed, the ignorant and the desperate. Most people would see his offer for what it is, but I'll bet that some people don't for whatever reason. He obviously gets takers because if not he he wouldn't keep doing it. I was ____ing infuriated when I received this because I know that some pensioner somewhere or someone else who doesn't know better would also have received the letter and might do throw their money away when if they wanted to sell they could easily do for market price. And this arseh*le laughs all the way to the bank. What he does isn't illegal, but that doesn't make it right.

I'm all for entrepreneurs, but this bloke is unscrupulous jerk who makes money at the expense of others. Where the ____ does he get off?

I'm going to use the envelope provided and send him a letter that spells out exactly what I think of the way this bottom-feeder does business. I expect that he will read the first two sentences and then throw it out, but at least he'll know that we're not all going to just ignore it.

If anyone knows of a web address or an email address for this arse bandit, please post it so I can spam him for a while and see how he likes it.

The gutless ____ doesn't quote a phone number, email address or web site so I can make contact though. The gutless spiv.

I have just done an ACN search and the number 125 872 924 does not find any company. Surely it can't be legal to quote an ACN that doesn't exist?

I actually lodged a complaint on the ACCC website. But you are right ASIC would probably be more interested in this. Will let them know.

OK, I will not post a name, but I think it is worth noting that Hassle Free Share Sales P/L and Australian Share Purchasing Corporation are owned by different people. There is more than one person who indulges in this activity.

Are you sure? I did some reading and the two companies were listed as being run by the same person.

It turns out that the ACN is not invalid. I received a call from a guy at the ACCC and he was able to find their ACN using the ASIC lookup. I used the Aust Business Register, which he said is not as good for searches unless its a sole trader you are looking for. WTF is the use of that than?

I still don't agree with the way that these people go about their business.

I'm sure the person with intials .... doesn't own Hassle Free Share Sales, not sure if he owns the other company or not. I am also sure there are a few people who put out these offers, he is just the most well known because he acts like a clown for reporters.

I work at an accounting firm & we use the ABR & ASIC websites regularly when doing audit. Generally, if I have an ACN I will use the ASIC website & if I have an ABN I will use the ABR. Simple reason being the ASIC website is for Companies & ABR is for all other.

FWIW, I don't agree with what he is doing. It's immorale. I personally would not partake in any of the sort of activity this guy is. But if he keeps getting away with it, don't worry. Karma tends to have a way of getting these pricks back!

It is not 100% sure that it is "this bloke" so therefore no names. We don't want BF to be liable for falsely naming someone.

As gravy mentioned in a post further up people should report letters such as this to ASIC and the ATO. Let them deal with it.

They are simply no moral scumbags preying on the ignorant or uneducated and particularly the elderly. I normally tell my clients to send the blank envelope back so at least these parasites have to pay for the postage!

There is however one company who offers to buy stock from you that has been delisted which then allows you to trigger a loss to offset any gains you may have.
