Players with more runs that D. Harris this summer in T20's

Gayle
Birt
Mcdonald
Hussey
Jaques
Finch
Quiney
Hodge
Maddison
Shah
Warner
Marsh
Gibbs
Maxwell
Klinger
Forrest
Marsh
Hayden
borgas
Wells
Haddin
Smith
Blizzard
Henriques

Meanwhile, for the year Warner has hit over 1000 runs in 30 matches @ 47. and you still think Harris is a better bat?

Well that's an indictment, even if he's missed a game.

Does anyone know why Mike Hussey hasn't played any t20's since 2010? Did he retire from them or just stop getting picked? I assume he retired because he was just aabout our best batsman in them.
Pretty sure they just stopped picking him. I take it they wanted to rest him, so that may continue, depending on how much cricket we have around the time of our next T20's.

I can't believe that guy actually believes Harris is a better T20 player than Warner.

That's not even a good troll :D

Don't really care, but please no Cummins or Pattinson. They are too important to risk on T20.

Harris better than Warner? Dear lord.

I don't think he was necessarily suggesting that Harris is better than Warner. His point was that he doesn't believe Warner is anywhere near the best in the world and he gave the averages comparison with Harris as some of proof that he couldn't be the best (if even Harris has a better average). But then again, that doesn't mean he doesn't think Harris is better than him.
I know who I'd take, though.

Hmmm

Dan Harris? best T20 batsman in the country outside of Marsh and Mike Hussey.
Decent, but Harris is better. That'd be like saying Marcus North should be in the test side. He gets a hundred every now and then.. but fails most other times.

Harris is underrated, and until recently Warner was overrated in T20s. About a year ago you could say that Harris was a better T20 batsman. Certainly, Warner wasn't delivering on his potential enough. But his game has gone to another level, he actually builds innings (in all forms). It used to be that he'd get into his 20s or 30s and then find a way to get himself out, but he plays smarter now, and three unbeaten domestic T20 centuries in a row is testament to that.

Over their careers, Harris>Warner, but Warner is definitely the better batsman now.

Shane Watson picks himself at 2.

Shaun Marsh at 3 also picks himself.

Wade can slot in at 4.

Mike Hussey should be at 5.

Dussey is an overrated T20 batsman but a very underrated T20 bowler, can slot in at 6.

Mitch Marsh is a great lower-order hitter. He can slot in at 7.

Steve Smith is an incredibly underrated T20 bowler. He's more or less useless with the bat coming in lower than 4, but he's a brilliant wicket-taker in T20s. His natural inconsistency works to his advantage, and he will work really well opposite the more stingy Dussey. He should bat at either 4 or 8, and he's probably not going to be able to get a spot in the top 4, so 8 it is.

James Pattinson deserves a spot.

Jason Krezja is another underrated T20 spinner, definitely deserves a run.

Pat Cummins is in the best attack, but might be kept from the team due to injury/preservation.

So that comes out as:

1. Warner
2. Watson
3. S.Marsh
4. Wade
5. M.Hussey
6. D.Hussey
7. M.Marsh
8. Smith
9. Pattinson
10. Krejza
11. Cummins

Three spin options (vital in T20) in Dussey, Smith and Krejza. Four pace options in Pattinson, Cummins, Marsh and Watson. Batting down to 8. Four of the best T20 batsmen in the world in the top 5 (Warner, Watson, Marsh and Hussey). Some power in Dussey and M.Marsh at 6 and 7, while Smith can squeeze out a dodgy 20 or so at the end of the innings if required. Pattinson, Krejza and Cummins can all swing a bat too.

Players that have played more games...

Harris has played 2 games for the record
S. Marsh has played one match
B. Hodge has played 2, and scored more.
Warner has played 1
Haddin has played 1 match.

Many of the others have played 3 matches, and have scored at higher than the 20 odd needed to beat his average this season.

If he truly was "the best in australia" he should be at be able to beat some other s who have played more, instead any old batsmen has done so.

"The chairman of the new panel, John Inverarity, has said he regards all slates wiped clean and that nobody who is putting performances on the board is out of the running." (Ron Reed, Herald Sun). This may open the door again for the likes of Nannes (who was stiff to lose his spot last year, after a year in the gig), if they want to keep the likes of Patto and Cummins away from T20 games (which they probably will, if they're on close to other games).

I've defended White for a long time (when he was performing well for Australia, or just after that period), but it is hard to make a case for him any more, except for due to the captaincy thing. If it wasn't for that, he'd be probably be no-where near it at the moment, on current form.
Needs to make some runs, but more importantly middle some balls, very, very soon. He seems to have zero self-confidence and self esteem. His apparent move to the top of the order for the Stars may help with all that, otherwise he'd be lucky to even keep getting picked for them, if it wasn't for his captaincy there as well.

Really like this side however I'd be taking Doherty over Krezja.

X Doherety?

Best T20 bowler in the country? Definitely the best spin option, and handy with the bat..
Yeah, nah. Not even the best T20 bowler in Tasmania. Gun 50 over bowler, but averages 36 at 7.6 an over in domestic T20 cricket. There's a reason he's never gotten a game for Australia in T20Is.

I'll take Krejza, Smith, SOK and Lyon at least, and probably even Duss as a specialist, ahead of Doherty in T20s.

Yeah nah, he has been killing it this year. the last game was the first time he had gone for runs, was going for like 5 a over and taking wickets. He will be around the squad
