Because, quite frankly, it is the best course of action, and everything else is just window dressing.

Matt and Gerry have had a long-standing deal to go to final tribal together, and they're using George as a shield. Simon was just a few seconds away from winning immunity over Matt, which would have changed the calculations completely, so ousting Simon is good for Matt's game because it removes an immunity challenge threat. By extension, it's also good for Gerry's game. George has shown no capacity to win an immunity challenge, and it's typically the case that the final immunity challenge is an endurance-based one, which George struggles with at the best of times.

For Matt and Gerry, the next logical vote-out is Nina. It weakens the alternative final three alliance of Liz, George and Nina, but keeps Liz and George close to Matt and Gerry.

Once they're done to final four, they'll toss out Liz, then George, Gerry and Matt go to final three, whereupon they're counting on Matt to win the last immunity challenge and take Gerry to the final tribal council.
Totally understand what you're saying but I think you're giving Gerry and Matt way to much credit, IMO they're both just to stupid to see the obvious.

Just out of interest, what are the best seasons in your opinion?

The original, the Australian Outback and Pearl Islands.

George will start to target the challenge threats now. Reckon he will target Matt in the next vote but not sure how he will get that past Gerry.

Just caught up on last night's episode, yet more talk about blindsiding George but then they don't have the brains or the balls to actually put it into action, it's like they are under his spell like he is the leader of some sort of cult.

A shame to see Simon go, I would have liked to have seen him win it, still a good effort from him to make it as far as he did when he was mostly on the outer and not part of any real alliances. Once he failed to win individual immunity he was always going to be an easy target for George and his pawns.

Does anyone remember 'the original Australian' survivor when it was on Channel 9. And instead of some humid, tropical beach, they set it on some cold island (was it Neptune Island?) where no bikini was ever seen and they spent most of their time in caves trying to stay warm? lol

Nina's big mouth (ok she's desperate) could turn things into a vote against George tonight.

Matt should go though - Liz is proving herself the best strategist out there tonight.
