Australia's tour of the West Indies 2021 (5 T20Is, 3 ODIs)

Good point. I just woke up to see Christian got a call up & Henriques is still in.
A joke of a batting team.

1 Moises Henriques, 2 Josh Philippe, 3 Mitchell Marsh, 4 Alex Carey (capt & wk), 5 Matthew Wade, 6 Ashton Turner, 7 Dan Christian, 8 Ashton Agar, 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Adam Zampa, 11 Josh Hazlewood

to be fair, McDermott is injured, Finch went home injured, and we didn’t have any reserve batsmen, so who would you have picked instead?

Surely Moises has played his last game for Australia.....never opens for NSW in any format, yet opens in the series decider for Aust?...not sure what Langer was thinking there.....hasn't Wade opened before representing Aust?....

Yeah strange isn't it .....perhaps Moises asked to open ??

Thought Wade should of opened in all three ODI with Phillipe

It more than likely would have been so we could have left handers in the middle order to face Hosein and Walsh who both spin it into the left handers. The WI countered that by bowling Hosein in the third over but the tactic was sound. It's the same reason Agar would have been sent in ahead of Turner with Hosein and Walsh operating from either end at the time of Carey's dismissal.

Makes you wonder how bad Australia need to be before west indies can be competitive?!

How injured is McDermott? Are we sending any reinforcements to Bangladesh or is it too hard with COVID bubbles?

It was a really odd line up this morning.

Why pick him if you dont bowl him. He has a decent List A record with both disciplines.
Firstly can you really rate someone's List A stats when they haven't played the format in 4 years?

In relation to why he was picked, he was the only recognised batsman/all-rounder left in the squad and he would have bowled if the pitch wasn't slow as * which allowed Turner to be a more effective 5th bowling option.

I'd give him and both the lookers on.. Sangha and Ellis a crack. Unlike Zampa, Sweppo and the teen leggie give the cherry a decent tweak.

He is. An under rated batsman. Anchored his partnership with Wade to give us a Caribbean series win..

Zampa is clearly our number 1 spinner, in Bangladesh I'd play him with Agar and Swepson

OK, let's dump the first odi spinner to establish himself since Brad Hogg.
Rashid Khan pushes ball through too

To be fair to Moises does McDermott ever open in List A cricket?

Like most I’m a bit perplexed by Wade playing as a specialist batsman and not being at the top. Surely it was either him or the skipper to open (although if Warner and Finch are in the plans for the 2023 WC Carey should stay where he is).
