My suggestion is Alwyn Davey. He's a freak. He'll be unstoppable if he can remain fit. Who do you think?

Davey is da bomb. Would have played every game last season if not for injury.
I don't exactly understand what you're getting at though -- automatic selections that we drafted in 2006? If that's the case Davey is the only one who has this so far -- Knighta wants players to be at peak fitness before selection which is going to make it a little harder for new draftees to break into the side though I expect the fringe 3rd and greater year players (like Dyson) to get more of a shot.
Maybe you should be more specific as "automatic starters" would be our best 22 (lloyd, lucas, fletcher, mcveigh, watson, stanton....etc)
Matthew Lloyd
Scott Lucas
Dustin Fletcher
Mal Michael
Mark McVeigh
Jason Laycock
Brent Stanton
Paddy Ryder
Alwyn Davey
Andrew Welsh
Andrew Lovett

I would think Laycock would be an automatic starter. He have two main ruckman and i rate him higher than Hille as far has ruckwork goes.Laycock? Am I missing something? Probable but not automatic starter.
Is an automatic selection as most sides have 2 ruckmen in their line ups and they r the only 2 we have so that makes them automatic selectionsLaycock? Am I missing something? Probable but not automatic starter.

Agree on all except Welsh.
There is no way he should be an automatic starter.
I agree.Ahhh...another anti-Welshy poster.
You have joined a large club on this board who share you're views on the local lad.
But not me. He is an automatic starter without even thinking about it....
What's this automatic starts crap?
Apparently we're building a side where there will be high competition for places.
You can expect guys like Lloyd, Lucas and Fletcher to all pull their weight, that's why they'll get picked evey week.
But after that, nothing should be automatic at this point.
Come round 1, the best 22 should be picked, regardless of who they are and from there, it's a week-by-week proposition.
