Possibly that is what Kingy was trying to do. I'm guessing that the carlton players didn't see anything much in the shove either and decided that there was no point in remonstrating. They knew Dekoning overplayed it.

Yeah I bawled my eyes out when we lost to Hawthorn in 1993, by less than a goal? We hadn’t beaten them for years. I was 8. Still remember it clearly, a drunk bloke on the train helped my parents console me, getting me to hold his can of VB as he took a piss in the walkway between carriages you had on those old trains: “we’re still on top mate, we’re still on top”. I’m sure the beer was taken out of my hands immediately, it all happened pretty fast.
