Sure, and I get as frustrated as anyone. But you have to acknowledge that the balance is ever so slowly evening out. For instance when Konstanty won a free for HTB I said "this guys been driving me ****ing nuts all night" (clearly I thought he was having an average game up until that point) "I bet he misses"

Promptly slots it. Expanding it to a team perspective, how many times have we seen the four-five goal run on turn into a blow-out loss? Too many to count. I'm not happy with another loss but at least I FEEL something now

That is losses by 3, 6, 9, 16 and the draw. Also that disappointing loss to Collingwood, where we dominated the ball for 3 quarters but just couldn't put it on the scoreboard.

I think outside of that period where it rained and they were allowed to kick four goals, our pressure was good, tackling was good for the most part, passages of play just stuck out liks dogs balls, a few runs from Hansen where he didn't blaze away and hit up a pass, another from Hardeman, there were a few other but for the most part there was a whole lot of trash going into the forward 50. These long bombs that burn up on re-entry are just garbage that do not help us at all.

I think it was a big improvement by LDU this week, he has been not great so far this season, I think he started to use the ball more offensively in that he was getting it out to team mates and not just when he had no other options.

I think Freo and the AFL in general would rate the Freo midfield quite highly and I think for the most part we did quite well against them. LDU, Parker, Powell and Wardlaw, Sheezel and McKercher in parts I think particularly when it was dry we dominated, they have a much bigger midfield with mature bodies so it wasn't a surprise they got on top when it became wet and slippery. I was just surprised how well they handled the ball in those conditions.

I almost forgot Simpkin was playing, he didn't have much impact in this game, was only on it for 44% ToG. Hansen was subbed on late in the 3rd quarter and still managed 25% ToG so not sure what the issue was with Jy, the TV didn't say he got hurt. Was he carrying something? I don't know.

I was really impressed with Hardeman and FOS, they played more like experienced players, were cool in a crisis and our back half is a crisis.

I normally pot McDonald for doing numerous dumb things on a weekly basis but I thought he was good all game. Yeah, he lost some one-on-ones, but overall he was really good. He stood up big time when the chips were down and that is when it is hardest to stand up, it is much easier to jump on a bandwagon that has momentum.

Larkey needs to realise he get hit high and doesn't get a free kick because he flops around like a tuna hauled onto a fishing boat in almost every contest where he isn't on a lead and the umpires aren't sure how much he is acting and don't want to get sucked into giving away frees where he is blatantly acting. They didn't pay several legitimate frees to him because of the way he conducts himself. He needs to change because it doesn't just hurt him, it hurts the team. I think the holding the ball decision was just a mistake they made.

Pav thought Pink was good, I think most people with two eyeballs would think otherwise. Dawson was not very good either. Fisher kicked a nice goal early but overall was a shit truck with his disposal.

Zurhaar was in the wars, he looked as unsteady on his feet as Larkey does in a one-on-one but Clarko still thought an immobile Zurhaar was a better option than Dawson.

Konstanty did some nice things in the last quarter but was pretty shit for the first three.

Curtis had no real impact of note. Surprising that Curtis, Simpkin, Dawson, Pink, Stephens, Fisher, Konstanty and Zurhaar were MIA to shithouse yet we weren't that far off winning this game.
