Totally agree with Murph and the MRP.

Having said that, I hope Ziebell has a big target on his jumper next time we play.
Have to disagree with Murphy, Cloke was kicking the ball or had kicked
it there are only two players who would have cleaned him out they
are Jack Ziebell and Jack Viney they are both dangerous at training
let alone when they cross the white line. Ziebell is a serial offender
and has a fair wrap sheet as was shown on "Talking Footy" most
players would have tried to smother or zoned Cloke.

Suckling.
Suckling was almost BOG for Norf in the first half. I almost had steam coming out of my ears just watching

BTW game stats - our team was still slightly less experienced. No excuses for Norf dropping that one

Funny thing is that if Ziebell smothered the ball or zoned Cloke off he may have prevented the ball getting to Libba for the goal and who knows that could have probably won them the game. That's the thing with Ziebell .... he's just a thug and doesn't have the composure to impact a game for his team because he's too pig headed to, as he puts it " change the way he plays" maybe that's why Norf are owen four.

Except the folks suggesting he was in possession, or it was a contested ball. But yeah, most agree. Folks just don't seem to get the irrelevancy of the injury for a non reportable clash.

If a bump is fair then well and good the injury doesn't come into it, but the guy took off in mid air cannoned into him recklessly and was late so IMO was unfair possibly illegal and should have been looked at. Then the injury is taken into account. Typical inconsistent MRP saying in the same week in another game that Gibsons bump on Ruggles was ok because he's feet didn't leave the ground ???

In all honesty if a Bulldogs player laid that same bump on a Norf player I'd be seriously cringing thinking Ooohhh Gee he's in trouble.
He didn't make the ball his objective.

Mclean rated third BoG by the coaches and some posters were still calling for him to be dropped and labelling him a passenger...
Really? This week? I can understand it last week (even if I didn't agree) because he was pretty quiet against Freo.

McLean's excellent game against North just shows why Bev and MC generally give players at least 2 weeks in the seniors if they have earned a call-up. I'm sure (even without the in-house player reviews) McLean would have been analysing his game all week and burning after the Freo game. He would have been determined to show what he could really do. Credit to him for being able to convert that determination into being one of the best on the ground.

This is also why I would be surprised if Bev dropped Dunkley or Clay after just one game back. I'm expecting Clay in particular to come out with an influential performance against the Lions. He's just that sort of player.

If Bontempelli saying he thought there was malice in a hit that put Hunter in hospital was enough for a four month vendetta and some push-and-shove, I almost expect some Lloyd on Sewell style retribution for this.

But I hope we're better than that. Just sort out our stoppage situation and expose him for the plodder he is.

Punishment based on the result of an action is ridiculous. I could punch you as hard as I can directly in the head and by some twist of fate you could be absolutely fine. But an accidental elbow could put you in a coma.

What Ziebell did was never and has never been a suspension worthy act. He hit Cloke in the body slightly late just after he disposed of the ball. It sucks that he was injured but them's the breaks in a contact sport.

But the MRP has been basing penalties on the result of the action for a couple of years. You bump some one in the head and they get a concussion you are gone for a couple of weeks. Same bump and they play on the penalty is not as severe.
There should be consistency, IMO if you are late, leave the ground and the guy is vulnerable and you cause injury then a reckless or charging breach has occurred.

Nothing against Cloke but it would be interesting to see our responses if it was the Bont who suffered the broken ribs (heaven forbid)

If it was Bont he would have to have a police escort for the rest of his life.

The success story so far this year for me .

While many of us think that Mccrae is underrated, I hope he still remains unseen by the footy experts or know-all baffoons. He is such a good player that he can win games off his own boot, and yet the so called experts cannot see that. That is what he did with Dahl on Friday. Keep it up, because that is what is going to help us go back to back.

Suckling played one of the worst 2nd quarters I've ever seen by an AFL player.

Then he had a great 2nd half. Still frustrates the hell out of me with some of his kicks.
