Today I celebrate the win with my daughters. We stand on the hallowed turf and grin like idiots.
They’re so few and far between just enjoy it!

We won but it is hard not to be a little disappointed considering how we played in the first quarter. We won the Q1, lost Q2, drew Q3 and lost Q4, so overall Richmond probably had the better of the game, other than the first quarter when they were totally blown away.

Sorry can't really agree with that. Clear winner in 1st, clearly Tigers lifted pressure and won 2nd but not by enough in trhe end. We drew third and only lost fourth by 1 point (2.2 to 2.1).

My read was it was fairly evenly matched, both teams have good youth but ours combined performed better over the whole game. Tiger's older players were steadier when the heat was on, while ours weren't.

Everyone who thinks Richmond is 3 years behind us, just look at the quality of their senior players still on their list. When those Premiership senior players retire, they will be further behind us. We won a close one and that is gold for this team. FFS some of you are just pathetic.

I actually think West Coast might end up in a slump possibly worse than us.

McGovern, Kelly, Cripps and Yeo (was good last year) retire, Allen leaves and Reid would be a brave (and very rich) man to stay.

Despite how few wins we‘ve had, I didn’t enjoy that. Feels sortve like a loss.

Honestly, more negatives than positives out of that one. I know I’m a wet blanket.

Huge wet blanket. Went with the kids, and they absolutely loved it. First win they have seen live.

Got to remember why we watch the game, and that’s to enjoy wins. We probably deserved to win the last couple more than today, but we got to sing it. Enjoy it.

The amount of whining on here after a WIN is out of control.

Some people would find fault if we won by 8 goals. I swear. It's insane. Take the win and focus on the positives for a change.

You ARE allowed to be happy, you realise. You're not required to feel bad or point out flaws in our team each time we don't absolutely smash the opposition.

Jesus, even in our premiership years we did actually lose games. Surprisingly.

Enjoy the win. We haven't had many of them recently.

Shout out to Richmond’s 4 extra defenders.

Lucky Dill and Laura say the games the best it’s ever been, because all I saw were Richmond defenders shoving, blocking and scragging as the ball came inside our 50.

Yet these same 4 gimps think a fly tap on Lynch is chopping.

Richmond defenders got bolder and bolder as the game progressed because they knew they wouldn’t be penalised.

Strangely enough, I don't enjoy umpire bashing. But for goodness sake the one-sided ness is so obvious it isn't funny.

Lynch was paid soft free kicks and marginal marks. Larkey was shoved a bit early on but copped a couple of full on tackles in the last quarter for nothing.

The deliberate against LDU was really dodgy but acceptable if similar Richmond deliberates were paid. They weren't.

The Richmond play on, with a handball and a kick after the whistle in the last quarter was as obvious a 50 as ever existed. Not paid. Four umpires. Not paid. How?

I'd be happy if the umpires were fairly even with when decisions they make. The consistent one-sided decisions are a disgrace.

Not hard to be pissed off as a forward when there are clear double standards to officiating a contest.

Even the commentators were calling it. The ball was smothered and went out of bounds and was paid deliberate agianst us at one point. They kept it inside 50 and scored.

That’s one decision. Read your comment again and don’t try and change your argument, you said they got them back into the game. They also made reference to free kicks that went our way.

Just home from the game. There was plenty of angst from me and other North supporters during the game but the final siren was total joy, strangers hugging and all that. Everybody who was at home watching on TV getting cross but apparently not getting the elation of finally winning one close game/one game at the MCG, sorry but you missed out on something that I think is the actual point of following a sporting team. I came here expecting more celebrations, but wow.

We’ve played better games and lost, we played a much better game last week and drew, and today everyone got to enjoy a win. It’s a good thing. I’m especially pleased for Jy, showing up after the week he had. But mostly I’m pleased for me and everyone else who shows up to support the team every week and really needed and deserved a result.
