That was the worst win since the * 2016 game where we fell over the line against their VFL team.

We are in massive trouble. How we are going to win more than 3 games I don't know
Clarkson mentioned prior to the game that it will be a dogfight, he left out the part about it being a pile of dogshit. It was a win, that's about it.

It doesn't rattle me, he's just not a lock down defender. But it's the second efforts, Davies-Uniacke is a bit the same. If they don't win the initial contest they just stop and spectate.
LDU is an offensive midfielder. Aiden Corr is a backman. Its not excused, I can excuse LDU at times because i’d rather him be forward of the contest

Even parker with an uncharacteristic very bad klanger late, i swear there is something in the drink bottles our blokes use....

I turned to Samquanch as they ran out for the 3rd q, as someone behind us said Parkers name. I swear l never saw him in the first half. I'd forgotten he was out there.

We are slowly building something special. Hopefully, it all comes together. Is this uplift in support an accident? I’d like to think Sonja and our AFLW champs are a crucial factor in it.
I'm not sure Sonja/girls have as much to do with it as 50+ year olds with kids who are now 20-30 with kids of their own and able to afford/have the passion (thanks to their parents) to bring their families to the game.

It's warming, honestly.

I can confirm that to be a true and factual account of the conversation.

Larkey was tackled twice in the last quarter before the ball was even delivered into the forward line. Nothing.
All 1st bananas get scragged and only Charly Curnow is untouchable. Its just the way it is. This $hits been going on for years. The bloke just needs to focus on his game rather than sooking it up.

The win just didn’t feel right. Especially after that first quarter. I was filthy in the second.. No changes to structure..

And Baily can **** off. How he was left on the park for so long just boggles my mind.

Aiden corr letting junior players walk through him also rattles me
We need arch and Goater back

Completely agree with Clarko's measured summary of the game which lay somewhere in between the overly negative and overly positive takes in here.

Singled out Colby's tackling for praise while acknowledging his missed tackle.

Lauded the backline for only conceding 4.1 from a dire 21 Richmond entries in the second quarter.

Acknowledged that our decision making and execution wasn't up to scratch and needs a lot of work.

That ultimately, the win is reward for becoming a lot more competitive without the ball - stopping the opposition's uncontested ball movement. Great to see kids like FOS and Hardeman offer a lot in that area - backing into leading lanes and packs, being accountable, doing everything they physically can to stop the opposition and not chasing kicks.

Part of the reason the game felt so weird was two-fold: most stoppages (139) in any game for nearly two years (!) dating back to Brisbane v Adelaide in Round 11, 2023.

And also the most combined tackles (184) in a game this year, and going back to Adelaide v St Kilda in Round 18 last year. If I've got my reading right on that second point, anyway.

Put those two together and the funkiness of today makes sense I reckon. And also probably a good thing to not capitulate under that pressure even if it registered negative style points.

92 tackles for each team. It was a tough game. In comparison the dogs vs * had 90 tackles total

Just an insane amount of constant pressure by the tigs.

Normally we’d buckle under half that load but not today!!

Maybe, but I hope you’re wrong because all the other teams will benefit even more because there are more parents supporting them.
