Trembath needs a nickname. Shouting out Trembath has no zing to it.
Trembath is a strongly built marker who times his moves well and has buckets for hands.

Buckets? Might have been used already

Loved how he really had a dip. Maybe wasn’t in the best position but made a contest at least, similar to Finbar but can actually kick. Seems at home in the AFL hoping for a bit of luck with this one 🤞

I’ve seen Geordie Payne smile twice in 2 weeks………upside.

Georgey W is going to be unbelievable in a completely different mould than we thought……tempered aggression coupled with class. So good.

Harry just insane

LDU - I have been critical of his kicking, but he needs to take the care he took with the ball in the second half more regularly and he will become an all timer for this club.

Xerri just loves the tough stuff.

Colby so much upside with him too.

Trembath, geez, how courageous in the air is this kid. Love him.

Actually thought Stevens was pretty good…..ran up and down that wing as an option all day.

Too many others to mention. Good win in the end.
Stephens is soft and physically weak but he works his backside off and does his job as well otherwise. If it gets to the point where he is our worst player and we're replacing him we won't lose a game for years.

Awesome game to attend, lovely way to close out our time down here. Had the better of the play pretty much completely after they got up 3 goals to 1, only still seemed close due to our early inaccuracy. So many obvious top-notch performances from the likes of Sheezel, LDU, Curtis, Xerri; Trembath has been a great find up forward, loved the chase-down pressure as well as the contested clunking; Wardlaw continues to look better for balancing his game out a little, even if he still has a tendency to fade as the game goes on; the way McKercher has built over the season has been excellent to behold. Such a joy to watch the dam wall burst in the third. I'm not much of a replay watcher normally but this one definitely warranted it - great win.

What does it signal for the future? We've seen the tails-up confidence wins before and they usually haven't led to something we can sustain, because we can't expect to dominate like this every week, so I'm loath to say it's a major positive in terms of long-term growth, especially coming this late in the season. But then, increasingly we're seeing it be the younger players who lead the way - Sheezel equalling a league record in his third season and six goals coming from forwards in their second game as just two examples today - and that's valuable even if we don't rate the opponent particularly much, and even if it doesn't say much about our dour defensive credentials. If we can at least keep some of this momentum up going into the off-season with a decent account of ourselves against Adelaide next week, then regardless of the patchy and slight nature of our improvement this year, maybe there are grounds for indulging our naive optimism a little. Nice to be given reasons to think like that today; hopefully it won't be too much longer before it can be vindicated.

Haven’t seen the game. Just catching up on the stats.
Straight up video game numbers on the stat sheets.
What happened to Zuurhaar?
Did his ankle in a tackle early in the second q.

Agree on Stephens. Package him up with Scott and put em in the same rubbish bin.
For all his flaws there were multiple times he pushed all the way back into their goal square. Altho he gave away one goal very early because he didn't compete hard enough (gave away a soft free in front of goal) other times he was able to support the backline enough that we won the ball back and on a few occasions went coast to coast to kick a goal.

It’s a thankless role. The effort and willpower required for all that sprinting, to be there for the escape kick out of defense, to run back up forward for the long kick, to participate in link plays, etc it’s why athleticism is prioritised over skill in that role. They’re never going to be “silky” and will always make a mistake or two.

As a side note, I often smh when I read people wanting to cut Scott or Stephens and replace them with more skillful players. Often with someone who will never have the heart to cover that distance. It just shows a misunderstanding of the role and system needed.

If you can find a player who can combo both (rare) watch out. Langdon, J Daicos, Amon, etc go alright.

If he was stronger in the contest then he'd be regularly talked up by the AFL media.
