Autopsy Autopsy vs St Kilda

Gee I hope this is your piss poor attempt at humour instead of a serious whinge.

You think not getting your membership until after round 6 of an 8 round season isn't bloody poor by the club even after how bad things were last year?

If you were this incompetent in your chosen profession, would you still be employed?

Looked a lot better without Ziebell out there.

Tarrant is supreme. Best player in the team? Not many KPDs in the league who are better.

Saw some terrific stuff from Higgins. Apart from the shocker in front of goal, Polec looked the goods.

Amazing that Pittard was basically playing KPD. The best steak knives you've ever seen.

Very impressed with the comeback.
Pittard should never be forced to play KPD
even before the walker injury he was forced to do so due to us going short in defence

I was told before the season that the membership stuff was held up coming out of China. I was emailed a replica to get into the Richmond game with. Mine didn’t arrive in time to take to a single game. I do not give a s**t.

Thought that would be filtered. I’ll allow it.

So with ziebell injured, this actually frees up 2 spots. We can now bring in an actual forward who is fit such as Hosie or Garner, then it also removes the conundrum of needing ziebell in the middle. As i have said many times, this bloke is a liability in the middle and he is clearly unfit hence he is top heavy, slow and not too nimble. The midfield rotation is pretty good with Cunnington as the brute strength close quarter specialist, the rest all all rather nimble, aggressive with good repeated effort. The likes of Anderson, Simpkin, Higgins, Thomas all have good leg speed so they could cover the ground well and should be good defensively. Hall got through the match unscathed and that's always a bonus.

That was magnificent. We were right up against it, players missing, baffling decisions, the end of the world and no ones ready, one tall backman - One kpd!

We lost 3 players before half time including our captain with what looked like a serious knee injury.

But still we held on.

Never forget in the bad times that are coming that this is who we are.
We didn’t hold on, we came from nowhere and completely shut them out of the game.

The only thing that kept this alive to the final siren was abysmal, one sided, unfathomable, disgusting umpiring.

We were disallowed an opportunity to kick a goal due to a throwing decision on Taylor that looked a handball, yet that knobhead Jones tried to bust through two tackles and just drops it and it’s all good play on.

Those spuds can go into this extended break knowing that even at our worst, with the umpires felating them, that they are still a giant shittruck.

Havent read the whole thread so apologies if already mentioned, but the MASSIVE spoil by the ‘Steak Knives’ did on King/Marshall? very late in the last allowing Taz to mop up saved us the game. Watch the replay and see how vital Jasper’s hand in there was.

It was brilliant!

He should be taking the kick ins. Very neat kick and probably just a matter of experience.

Sent from my iPad using BigFooty.com
He played his way into the game for sure, but so did some more senior players that should've known better

Jmac also spent 96% on the ground and great disposal at 87%

dropped that mark when he should have but played solid

Think his time is up of picking up smalls and needs to play taller as he hasn’t the wheels to go with speedy players.

How's that last kick from Jy in defensive 50.
Someone gif that bad boy up

Ummmmm round 2 isn’t for anotherv2 months. Should be fit by then.

What a wonderful weekend. The girls yesterday and the boys today. And both by 2 points.

I've only read a few pages here, but I think our ordinary first half might be attributed at least in part to the loss of Josh Walker. This on top of Majak, pulling out meant our defence was badly undersized and for a while I think everyone was trying to work out who was on who. Half time arrived in the nick of time enabling the boys to regroup, attack the game with a different approach and start to worry the Saints out of it.

Early in the third quarter we were just hanging on with the defence under enormous pressure, but crucially the Saints didn't manage to score a goal. As so often happens when one side has the ball in their forward line for a period of time, but fails to score, we broke it open with a confidence lifting goal and from then on we always had the upper hand.

I thought Cunners was magnificent, Jy, Goldy, Jed, Froggy, Polec, JMac and Higgo all playing good tough football, with everyone else contributing. I suspect also that when we did lift the tempo in the third quarter, as so often happens when a club introduces a number of players from other clubs as St. Kilda did in the off season, things don't quite gel as well as they might have hoped for. Its not easy to integrate so many players from other clubs into a lineup, particularly early in the season.

As to the umps. A couple of soft frees and goals to King, which naturally everyone in football, bar us, wanted to see, but in my opinion overall they were not as influential as they could have been yesterday.

With the season cooked, I'm planning to watch the two games this weekend on repeat for the next year (probably) and just pretend its a couple of new games each week. On this basis I'm confidently tipping both teams will go through the season undefeated. Works for me.

If Rhyce can tidy up our structures behind the ball teams like St Kilda will never beat us.

Sides that play against us try to clog our F50 and spread hard forward because we don’t set up well behind the ball and a lot of our players don’t chase back hard enough or are too slow to react to a counter attack.

i dont know if i have seen a forward press like we did for a good while there where the saints just couldn't clear our 50m arc, then got out a couple of times and i thought they would have a pagans paddock to exploit but somehow we were able to still push back and quell the attack. even with a compromised defense.

Not that we will be playing anytime soon, but how can 2 spots be freed up by one player out injured? Bizarre.

And last time I saw any of your posts you were advocating getting rid of both Cunners and Jack. Cunners was absolutely pivotal while Jack was injured early.

You have zero credibility mate, zero.
