Hey folks, come in peace.

Reckon a lot of you are being pretty harsh on your team’s disposal and turnovers, from what I’ve read so far.

For starters, you went at 80% disposal efficiency for the game. Only Gold Coast in their demolition of Richmond did better, going at 82%.

Only two other teams for the round went at more than 75%.

And you were taking the game on a lot, so it’s not as if it was a high DE due to being really conservative.

Secondly, you only had 55 turnovers, which was likewise the 2nd-best for the round. Only WB in their 88 point win had less.

Just to put things into some perspective.
Nothing offensive, but I often wonder about progress when people start bringing up percentages as a guide of anything

I feel like right now, supporters and players will never be more alligned in just wanting the year to end.

The next 3 weeks should bring about some sadness for us as the year comes to a close and we won’t get to see the side run out till mid March 2026.
Pick 2 belongs to Richmond and none of the premium trade targets/decent free agents available are interested in us.

Can’t get more irrelevant than that.

But life is ultimately more enjoyable and less stressful over the summer. It is relaxing and I am looking forward to not watching us lose each weekend.

Simple times await.

And 6 years in, we once again enter an off season with little to zero optimism and minimal excitement about the next season ahead. At least under Brad in 12, 13, 14, 15 there was some hope. This rot we’re in has genuinely gone on too far. It is impacting us and causing irreparable damage.
Finishing bottom 2 again was never going to be acceptable and if it does happen, the club is going to be plunging further into worse territory.
It is what it is.
We've had 6 coaches over 6 years. The list has bern turned over.

Yet the constant is appalling poor performance and standards. They can spruik whatever they like, results speak for themselves.

Lean towards looking at every facet outside of coaching and playing group for answers.

Board and senior leadership - do we have too little friction, no genuine competition to be the best or testing of ideas?

What about S&C, psych, ancillaries?

We draft from the same pool as everyone else, we've reshuffled coaching staff many times over and have the most successful just about in history at the helm.

But something still stinks. Not sure we really feel like finding out what it is.

I think we're too frightened to say what it is, we need hard men in charge, and kicks up the arse, not academics and hugs.

The only time we have seen some success was when Geoff Walsh was in a senior role at the club.

Outside of his tenures we’ve been dogshit

We were pretty good when we had Ron Barassi, Ron Joseph and Denis Pagan. But your point is well made. We need discipline and a harder edge, not players cracking the sads and getting a pat on the head after a bad game. Bottom line is we've become soft.

We have a few players who are wearing the jumper but not playing for the jumper. finally bringing in some of the younger players will hopefully fix that problem because they will want to keep playing in the seniors unlike some who no doubt may not care where they play as they are still on contracts with high $$$$.

Wearing the jumper used to be a badge of honour. You'd have a sleepless night hoping you'd be picked. Not sure that that's the case anymore.

l'm hoping that the younger players can learn what wearing the jumper really means for them and the future of the club..

Seems we’re in the “is there too much stability?” phase of our collective questioning of what is wrong at NMFC. Who’d have thunk it.

The main thing I want to change heading into 2026 is the rhetoric from the coach and hierarchy. It’s now time to move past the ‘we want to be in games later’ and ‘we know where we’re at’ to a version of Dimma’s “we need to grow the F..k up”. It’s time.

Clarkson effectively said that on Friday didn't he?

Was no way as unequivocal as that
No he wasn't. No where near it.

This is a quote from page 5 of the latest Clarkson thread:

Clarko: We're in a wins and losses game. We can't be sitting here in a year or two singing from the same songbook. It has to spike. We know we've been in more games this year than last year but ultimately from an outsider's point of view the criticism is justified.

But he has said that next year (or 2027) we have to be winning lot more. The spike he refers to is how he described Adelaide going from 15th to be on top of the ladder now, so I take it to mean he expects significant improvement not just a little.

Maybe Clarksons needs to focus on the one thing that kills us

Poor hand and foot skills

All summer

In a game of inches we are always 6 inches away

Our most recent periods of success have featured Geoff in a senior role at the club.

He was there for 96 and 99.

He went to Collingwood in 07 and they played in a prelim and then got the flag in 2010.

Came back to us in 2013 for 4 seasons in a period that still includes our most recent finals appearance and win.

He then went back to the Pies and they were unlucky to not win the flag in 2018.
There’s a reason Eddie pinched him off us not once but twice in a decade.

We need more people of this calibre at the club with this track record.

“Walsh has over 30 years of industry experience, having had two previous stints at North Melbourne – the first from 1994 to 2006 (including five years as CEO) and then again from 2013 to 2016. He also served as the head of football at Collingwood across two terms, finishing up in 2020”

What an outrageous assertion.

Having a CEO in place who’s focus is on field success has no place at this club….

Next you’ll be telling me that having a coach with a modern gameplan is needed…
