I’ve been lowering my expectations since 2002. We went from conquer-alls to “naw, look at the little battlers go”.

Now the only thing as long and excruciating as our flag drought is our list of excuses.

I get it - we have been hard done by in every loss we have had and don't deserve this great injustice as our drafting, recruitment and development has all been first class.

At some point the constant excuse hunting by our supporter base jumps the shark and we are probably at that point now.

We were hard done by in the most recent loss. A couple on here blame the umps for every loss, and that's horseshit. With about 5% more quality in our play we probably knock off Essendon and Freo. Maybe Port too, just cos they dominated that one and we still got close.

Onus is with us in all non dogs games. And we repeatedly fail

Larkey getting injured absolutely cost us. Along with LDU and Xerri. That's three of our best players on the night (at various stages) either injured or out of the game.

Then, Dawson had to go off in the last quarter too. The Dogs got extremely lucky that two key position players were either injured or not 100%.

Before the injury, Lobb and that other bloke were on the ropes. Could not control the main man.
