Na stuff the negativity. All in here were so upset coz the script was same old.

Guess what, it wasn't. We won. It was disgusting. It was at times humiliating. It we pulled it outta of arses and did what we havent dont for, without checking, feels like 6 years - we chased down a deficet and won.

That last qtr we can enjoy.

That LDU contract is virtually doing this…..

****ing lazy spud campaigner!
He just looks disinterested half the time........from the very first bounce Reid jut pushed him aside and took off. LDU drops his head far too many times for a professional footballer too. That sh!ts me the most......just play flat out till the whistle.

Why do we get out tackled every week?

Do the opposition want it more than the players every week?

Why do we play a game style that sees us over possess the footy and create turnover and opposition goals?

We usually dominate clearance. Maybe play a game style that sees more clearances with longer kicking towards the boundary.

As a team we can’t
  • kick
  • handball
  • create separation
  • handle the footy
  • tackle

Larkey. Gross attitude, needs the mother of all rockets. Screams for the handball off Simpkin and despite slotting it, still threw his arms in the air, didn’t celebrate and essentially the only teammate to not go to him. Even pink did!
I saw this if larkey was actually running at full pelt instead of jogging he might have got the handball very lazy footballer

Definitely seems to be standing round waiting for it to happen rather than making it happen most of the time.

Good last quarter to win. FOS setting standards already, McKercher's dare paying off or at least not actively hurting us a lot more than earlier in the year, Xerri steering things in the middle with aplomb, Simpkin standing up at the end. Back six as a whole held up pretty well given what they were made to deal with (and the criticism of McDonald's game on here feels unduly harsh, in a team that seemed pretty disinterested for most of the day he was one of the few bringing the required effort). Pink with a good shepherd in the last - this shouldn't be worthy of remark, it's basic team-oriented stuff, but genuinely stood out because we just don't see it from this group. In pure W/L toss, we're almost keeping pace with the also-ran pack after a net-positive 5-week patch - as low a bar as that is, it's something we've not cleared in half a decade so it's a valid statistical milestone for our achingly gradual creep back into being normal levels of bad instead of incomprehensibly insipid. So there are positives to take from this victory despite... well, you know, everything else about it.

Boggles the mind that we only woke up at 3QT. Larkey given an absolute bath by Harry Edwards and spent most of the day letting everyone know he thought that was anyone else's fault but his. LDU getting a lot of money to jog nonchalantly near stoppages for three quarters. Wardlaw well down on output for a few games now. Powell a lot of the ball and not a lot of positive impact. Giving up that high an inside-50 disparity to the worst team in the league is woeful enough; changing basically nothing, in either strategy or basic intensity, until we were forced into comeback-or-bust, even more damning.

Hard to blame anyone coming away from that still deeply unhappy with our trajectory. When we win that ugly and that narrowly, against the terrible opponent we already knew we were capable of eking out atrocious victories against even at our lowest, it's fair to say it doesn't feel like progress. But we can only beat the opponent we played and we did that, clearing the minimum hurdles over the last few games that we also know we're pretty experienced in clattering into sometimes. The platform is there for us to show real progress on the back of these less impressive wins. Time we actually did that.

Today's game displayed absolutely zero evidence of structure, system, teamwork, footy nous, common sense, due diligence, willingness to adapt, learning from previous mistakes, maturation, professionalism, progression,, skill utilisation, tactical implementation, team balance, leadership, defensive strategy, second efforts, sticking tackles, negating opposition momentum, F50 entries of substance, playing to strengths, gut running, performing under pressure, executing basic skills, playing the percentages. Need to show more than this or elite talent means zilch
