How impressive are the trailers hope the story is just as good
I note that to really experience the the 3d environment which this film is built around, theaters will need to invest up to 100k on the technology so that patrons can truely immerse themselves in it . I dont see my picture complex doing that .
Having said that I cant wait for this to come out

I can't believe some people are saying it looks crap and/or looks like a cartoon.
If there's better looking CGI in a movie than this, I'd certainly like to see it.

Me too, Cameron is making the same mistake the makers of the Final Fantasy movie made, photo realistic animation is still impossible and the differences between it and reality are enough to take me out of my suspension of disbelief.

I've been hanging for this movie for the last 2 years. God it looks something special. $450million budget, this film will take 3D to the next level.

This might be a really good movie, but the over-abundance of CGI beasties is a turn-off. I miss eighties movie-making, with the emphasis on plot... why, back in my day they didn't have this fancy computer-generated stuff with its pixels and whatnot. They used to put a few bits of foam together, paint it blue and call it a monster. Everything was real back then - even the fake stuff!

I have some faith in Jim Cameron being able to tell a great story along with great special effects (T2, Aliens). Even his 'lesser' efforts are solid 3.5-4 star films (Abyss, Titanic).
He's had this one on the boil for so long, you'd think the guy would be likely to produce something impressive.
It does look like a cartoon btw..

I'm pretty sure people were blown away in the 60's with the 3D glasses too. End of the day it wears thin and I can't see how an interstella race is going to be defeated by blue skinnies flying dragons?
