Not bad - it was better than i expected; but then again I wasn't expecting much.

Way too much appeal to 'spiritual' cliche for my tastes however. They could've been a a bit more subtle about it.

And it dripped with the AGW meme and the evils of capitalism the whole way through as well. At least try and be a bit clever about it.

Army moves in and to get their natural resources blasting away the locals that try to stop them.

The complaints about the plot are a bit silly because it is supposed to be familiar. Cameron didn't want people thinking about the intracasies of the plot while they watched, he wanted you to be totally engrossed in the fantastic imagery on the screen. Sometimes having a deep, convoluted plot is just not the right way to go, and I think the simple story in Avatar is just right for the style of film it is.

Sit back and enjoy being sucked in to a wonderous world instead of thinking how silly unobtanium is and you'll have a great time.

on a par with seeing star wars in 1977 as a kid for awe inspiring ground breaking movie.

Smash hit Avatar boasts plenty of action but not of the bedroom variety.

Now Zoe Saldana has revealed that a sex scene was shot but was axed from the final movie. The gorgeous star says the steamy session was between her Na'vi character and lead Sam Worthington. And she explained how the native blue humanoids get it on.

"If you sync to your banshee and you're syncing to a tree, why not sync into a person?" she said. "I almost feel like you'll have the most amazing orgasm, I guess. It was a very funny scene to shoot because there were so many technical things that sometimes you have to keep in mind that paying attention to all those might disrupt the fluidity of how a scene is supposed to take place."

Director James Cameron cut the scene, which will be included on the DVD, to protect his PG-13 rating.

My thoughts exactly. Visually appealing, weak story.

If District 9 can incorporate awesome special effects with an interesting story with at least a dash of moral ambiguity I don't see why Avatar couldn't.

Man, the overrating of this movie is reaching Dark Knight levels.

It was quite good, but nowhee near the best of the year. Its special effects were good but that was expected. I would hve been nice if the plot delivered more.

The biggest geek in this whole situation is you, Sir. Keyboard Warrior.

Others just go and enjoy it for what it's worth with their mates...and then resume living their lives. Which is something you might want to look into having sometime.

Actually there's been talk for a while now about a Mighty Boosh movie, don't know if anything will ever come of it though.

Yeah the Boosh movie is going ahead apparently - I'm soooo keen for that.

The guy that directed the tv series has a different film just coming out called Bunny and the Bull which features Noel and Julian in support roles plus several other Boosh regulars.

Honestly, the visuals are so good that the plot doesn't matter that much. If you don't go in expecting it to be a brilliant movie then you will have a heck of a lot of fun.
