I know that, but it has absolutely nothing to do with James Cameron's AvatarThey are releasing Avatar: The Last Airbender movie this year and it looks interesting.

Taking it to a whole new level.

I can almost understand Trekkies, Klingon-speakers, those who dress up as imperial stormtroopers (Star Wars) and people who claim Jedi as a religion.
As for people who paint their skin blue and claim to be Na'vi, I'm not so sure.

SAM WORTHINGTON awakens from cryogenic sleep as the PILOT comes onto the radio.

Alright everyone, we’re now arriving at Pandora.
SAM WORTHINGTON
Pandora? No wonder I keep hearing the same twenty songs over and over again.
SAM exits his tiny cryogenic tube and stretches his legs.

Air travel has been pretty restrictive since the Christmas underwear bomber. Anyway, it’s 2149 and I’m about to continue my dead brother’s work to help Giovanni Ribisi make enough money to buy some new vowels for his last name. Oh, and I’ll be occasionally dropping some voiceover exposition, because what would lazy storytelling be without voiceover?
Oh there's been quite a bit said about it I'd say. What a massive rip off of Pocahontas. Surprised more hasn't been said about the similarities.

This is all over the internet...
Don't read if you doon't want the plot spoiled, if it hasn't been already... You'll work the plot out 20 mins in anyways...

I went and saw Avatar on Wednesday, and I thought it was fantastic...20 minutes in, I knew what was going to happen throughout the film, but that didn't matter...
From probably a half hour in, till about the 2 hour mark, I was completely caught up in this world that Cameron had created... The last hour was inevitable, however the previous 90 minutes was so amazing, you felt such a connection with this world and its people, that it didn't bother me I knew how the story was playing out...
I've never been one to get overly excited about special effects in movies, however in Avatar, the effects are essential for this film, as it's all about creating the connection between the viewer and the world on the screen. The connection is so strong in this film, that for mine it makes any weakness in the plot irrelevant, as you just come to care about what is going to happen so much.
You really showed me.All that ranting and you haven't even seen it?
The biggest geek in this whole situation is you, Sir. Keyboard Warrior.
Others just go and enjoy it for what it's worth with their mates...and then resume living their lives. Which is something you might want to look into having sometime.
I have now seen this movie in 3D, 2D (both at the cinemas) and also on Blu Ray, and can say I still don't rate it as a "great movie".
I compare this movie to a video game, where the graphics are stunning, but the gameplay and longevity (actual worth) of the game is quite terrible.
Everyone knew what was going to happen as soon as you figure out who the main characters are, and it was really quite boring and predictable for me.
I tried to watch in in 2D and on Blu Ray to see if I could "get the concept" behind the movie, but simply put I can't.
Will never watch it again, EVER.
I would rate the whole package a 6/10, totally over rated, great graphics and presentation, but still a little cartoonish for me in it's concept.
Next please.![]()
I must be the only person yet to see it.

I'd already seen it at the cinema so when my housemates watched it the other night on DVD I didn't bother and went into another room to watch some sport.
I thought it was a magnificent experience marvelling at the special effects and scenery in 3D at the cinema... but I had exactly zero interest in re-watching the storyline in normal viewing on a standard tv.
For me that pretty much sums up the movie in a nutshell.
I thought I was watching Ewoks attack the Empire's walkers at the end.
George Lucas probably choked on his popcorn when he watched that scene.

Silly stupid commentLike George Lucas is the master of sci fi? You're ****ing kidding me aint ya?
Lucas stole everything he did in star wars from the most basic of basic storylines.
Star Wars was and is the most unoriginal and most mundane of films Ive ever seen.
Star Wars aint Sci-Fi. Star Wars is Wizard of Oz, but at least that was original in its time.
Star Wars offers nothing and George Lucas is a pirate.
