Yeah, I think we are no chance with so many injuries, particularly to our forwards.

I mean, we will be depending upon Jesse White as our key forward.

Jesse White is the pin up boy for everything that is wrong with Collignwood, but with all the hype of Moore, Lynch and to a lesser extent Wright, Jesse was by far and away the dominant big man on the ground last night and is probably currently in better form than Gunston, no I dont rate Jesse in the same stratosphere as Gunston, Gunston is having a tough patch whilst Jesse is in career best.

Yeah, I was gonna post the same thing yesterday.

Assuming Geelong and Bulldogs both win tomorrow (vs Brisbane, Essendon).
You will have 4 teams on 64pts (Syd, Ade, Gee, Haw) and 3 on 60 (GWS, WCE, WB)... and Hawthorn have the clear 2nd worst % of that lot. (Can't possibly catch the Eagles %, but could easily be caught by WB if they smash the Bombers).

That means that if we can beat them next week - the highest they possibly finish is 4th, but automatically fall out of the 4 if just one of GWS (NM), WCE (Ade), WB (Fre - depends on %) win... and potentially right down to 7th if all 3 teams win. If they beat us then they stay in the top 4.

It would almost make up for this shitty season if we can do that next week... be the team that puts the first nail in the coffin of the Hawks run for a 4-peat. (because they really shouldn't win from outside the top 4 - if they manage that, I will be mightily impressed).

For me this is less about the Pies' record (although I do enjoy that stays with the club) but more about how much I dislike so much of Hawthorn and their playing group, and how biased the media, umpires and MRP are towards them - that I just can't wait to see this end.
---

It'll be tough without Darcy (but hopefully Cloke comes in and has a big game)- but we have shown this year that our best is good enough. If we show up and they are even 5% off, then I can see us winning this. (If we don't show up - they will smash us, and probably use that confidence heading into the finals to have another successful run)
Couldn't agree more. As a noted hawthorn hater. (Have never liked them) I hope we land that first nail in the coffin. But the record should be our motivating factor to win and finish the season off strongly with a view to carrying it on in 2017.

It's more a case that he isn't a player you can depend upon. He is quite capable of playing a good game you just wouldn't want to bet on it

Agreed. Very inconsistent player, but consistently more X Factor and surprisingly good then consistently shit this year.

Feel dirty for saying this, but I'll be cheering for your mob next week for the sake of the competition to knock off the Hawks and then they can finish as low as 6th. Not a certainty to get knocked during finals but it will definately make it more difficult. It will also definately improve my GF day down at the pub.

Good man. Be good to see two other clubs having a crack at it.

More than some meaning. It should mean everything. We cannot let this spoilt club achieve this feat. God I am so over them. The fact they have averaged a premiership every 3 years since coming into the competition sickens me. They're supporters shit me. Cannot stand dorkthorn. It is in our power to stop them or at least make it as difficult for them as possible to achieve it. I hope we come out breathing fire and brimstone
I'm over them
Yuk
Horrible jumper too

Your avatar, that guy? Not sure the majority of people look like him....
It's different....

Just say straight out why my avatar has anything to do with my opinion.

It's not difficult.

I'm still curious as to what my avatar is supposed to mean...
But it's your avatar.
Let's just say the picture looks very odd

It doesn't.
Just looks odd.
Thats all

Then why this?

Tell me what it gives away?
I think you're taking it way to seriously.
It's all in jest.
If the hawthorn four in a row is not an issue for you, that's fine.
They will either win the GF this year or they won't.

Ahh yes, in jest. Sure it was. ;)

Because your avatar looks like a typical 'Collingwood supporter' toothless and silly looking. :)

And that's pertinent to the discussion how? Funny how you piped up only now.

Pendles had just about the best game I've seen anyone play against them last year. Needs to repeat that if we are to win next week.
Gonna be a struggle with essentially no forward line.
Anyone reckon theirs a chance they'll bring cloke back? (send off game?)

Ahh the old make snide comments then pretend it's all in jest when you get called out on it defense.

Cloke is a certainty to come back in for a send off game, we need him.

The thing is, they're so gettable. We should have beaten them by 5 goals last year - admittedly we were playing a little better but they were streets ahead of where they are now. The following three weeks they beat Fremantle by 72 (when they were actually good lol), Sydney away by 89 and Carlton by 138. Right now they're only just going and their midfield is struggling big time - an area we can take advantage of.

$5.30 looks good value to me - we've shown our best is more than good enough and Hawthorn hasn't really played four quarters all year.

Obviously this is important to Woods fans and historically I think more important than the premiership this year.
AFAICS if WC beat Adelaide and GWS beat North next week, Dawks will finish out of the top 4 and be jsut about fkd. but if not, it may be up to Collingwood themselves to give them the boot. To me this would make our game next week bigger than a grannie, because if Dawks finish top 4, the 4-peat record (and claim to greatest side in history) is looking very shaky.

Oh a bit of a relevant article: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...k=404581afa3075b1cba8b61cb7fb355c0-1471725848
Nah man. Who cares about the fourpeat?

The only thing better than beating Hawthorn next week would be if Jesse White booted eight and won the game off his own boot. Like adding salt to their wounds.
